It had been exactly two months since I had dumped Penny, and here's why: She went crazy because I've been hanging out with Darwin, he's my best friend...Of course I'm never going to leave him! She then asked me who I'd pick...Her or Darwin. I didn't answer because it was stupid, she then grabbed a fork and stabbed my stomach...So I dumped her.

"Hey Gumball!" Darwin cheerfully said sitting down on the floor of my room beside me. "Hey Buddy!" I replied grinning at him. "How're your scars?" He asked with interest. I pulled up my shirt, revealing a three-lined scratch. "It's definitely better, just a scar." I answered. Darwin looked at it and then looked at me. "I'll never let her hurt you, never again!" He promised.

I looked at him with a big smile. He was always sweet, such a great person to have in life beside me. Darwin was about two inches shorter than me, his skin tone matched mine, light, he had orange hair that had little curls in it, but it was spiky at the same time, he wore an orange hoodie with fish fins that poked out of it, black shorts, and green high-tops I gave him. To be honest, he was adorable.

"Thanks Dude!" I said throwing an arm around him. "A-Anytime!" He stuttered and I saw his cheeks turn pink, which made me laugh. "What do you want to do today?" I asked. "Wanna practice the wheelbarrow?" He asked giving a laugh. "Yeah!!" I agreed running down the stairs, Darwin in tow. We were soon outside, then I stopped.

I let my eyes land across the street, I knew Darwin was staring too. Penny. I bristled. I watched her walk across the street, bouncing on her heels, flouncing her hair. She made me sick...Her amber eyes met mine and she trotted over to our yard. "Watterson." She growled looking at me. I narrowed my eyes. "Fitzgerald." I snarled.

"Gumball...let's go inside..." Darwin murmured tugging my arm. "I know you're not over me!" She growled tapping my nose. I shoved her away. "I'm over you Penny! I don't love you!" I said angrily. "Prove it." She smirked. I hesitated. "Uh...I Love Darwin!" I said grabbing Darwin's hand, I saw his face turn red. She looked at me and laughed. "Well duh! He's your best friend!" She said rolling her eyes.

I growled at her. "No!!! I...Love Him!!!Like...uh...I love him more than a best friend!" I shouted. I could see Darwin's face get redder and I felt my face burn too. "I'd never expect that, well then, why don't you two go on a date tonight?" She smirked. "WE WILL!!!" Darwin growled at her, I saw his free hand clenched into a fist. "Ta Ta Then!" She snorted walking away.

I held onto Darwin until Penny was away, then I flopped onto the grass and gave a sigh. Darwin sat down beside me and looked at me and frowned. "What did we just do?" I asked popping up so I was sitting at his level now, watching him with curiosity as he was thinking. "I think you basically just told Penny we're dating." He said running a hand through his hair.

My face turned red. "But...We're not!" I breathed, he could see my face and he gave a laugh. "What, you embarrassed of me?" My Heart began to race. "No...I...Ugh Darwin!" I said crossing my arms, my face on fire. I've always had the biggest crush on him, nobody knows, it's just something I keep to myself! I don't know if he'd ever like me back... I snapped out of my thoughts. Darwin giggled again, causing me to punch his arm. "Heeeey!" He laughed rubbing his arm. "But for real, I have to pretend I'm dating you??? You're just my best friend!" I pointed out covering my burning face.

"Unless you'd like Penny to make a fool of you for the rest of your life!" Darwin added. "Not helping." I said getting up. "Gumball, we can pull it off." Darwin said hopefully. Why does he Want to do this so bad...? We don't actually have to... "Like how?" I asked letting my ears raise in interest.

"I dunno, what did you and Penny do while you guys dated?" Darwin asked. "Held hands...Always hung out, kissed, hugged." I said twitching my tail. "We already hang out, we hold hands sometimes, but we don't have to kiss or anything!" Darwin said opening the front door to go inside. I followed behind and walked up to our room. I gave a laugh. "Well aren't you optimistic?!" I said opening the door and trotting in.

My head started to spin and I fell down. "Gumball!" Darwin cried grabbing my hand. "Darwin! I-I don't fe-el so good!" I whined looking at him, the world around me becoming blurry. I couldn't yell for my parents, they weren't home, and Anais was with them as well. Darwin fell down beside me, "I don't feel well either Gumba-" he trailed off and passed out.

My eyes closed too, letting the dizzy feeling take over me.

( 30 Minutes Later... )

I groggily opened my eyes, "Ugh..." I mumbled looking around. A foggy light hung around, just a yellow glow around this dark place. A basement...? I shook my head, "Where am I?" I asked drowsily. I looked at my body. Tied up... I started to panic and looked around. Darwin!!! DARWIN!!! He was beside me, still knocked out.

"Darwin!" I urgently murmured, I couldn't shake him awake, I was tied up against my will. "Darwin!!!" I said again, in a pleading whisper. I let out a sigh and shifted around. "LET ME GOOOOO!!!" I screamed. "Gumball. Where are we?!" Darwin asked in panic. "Dude, I don't know...! I-I I'm so happy you're awake!" I said looking at him. "Gumball, I'm happy you're here too...I'm scared." Darwin said looking at me, he shivered.

I looked away, I couldn't let Darwin see me scared... "Gumball, if this is the last time we see each other...can I tell you something?" Darwin asked in a hushed whisper. "S-Sure." I replied as my voice shook. "Gumball, I like you." Darwin quickly said looking at me. I returned his gaze. "W-Well Yeah! I like you too d-dude!" I stuttered.

I saw tears start to hit his eyes. "N-No! I don't like you as a friend, I like you how...how you used to like Penny! Gumball I love you!!!" Darwin said quietly letting a tear roll down his cheek. I just smiled at him. I felt tears run down my cheeks too. "I never thought I'd say this but Darwin, I love you too." I said softly as my ears perked up. I wanted to hug him...I wanted to feel him against me! "Darwin, I should've told you before! I-I like everything about you!" I said flicking my tail.

Darwin's cheeks went red, mine did too, I could tell there was real love between us, not some fake love only for attention, this was real. A voice snapped me out of it. I let out a low growl.
