Gumball X Darwin: Love Is Hidden

Darwin's POV:

I felt a blush seep into my cheeks. I guess Gumball and I were a thing now... I felt happy, but our situation, not so happy.

I saw Gumball bristle and give a low growl. I gave a gasp as I saw the figure make way. Penny! "WHY ARE WE HERE?!" I screamed. Her hand shot over my mouth and I tried to rip it off...but she pressed it back on. "GET OFF OF HIM!" Gumball growled. I looked at him lovingly, and then I kicked Penny, as hard as I could, even though my legs were tied up, it made her fall. She stood up and grabbed my hoodie. "Knock it off Fish-Head!" She snorted dropping me. "Auuugh!" I mumbled rubbing my head. "DONT YOU EVER HURT HIM AGAIN!" Gumball screamed baring his fangs at Penny.

"Shut it!" She growled glaring at both of us. I wanted to be tough, because Gumball always was, but I couldn't be! I felt tears start to stream down my face. "Gumball!!! I-I-I I'm Scared!" I sobbed. He gave me a comforting look. "I'm here Darwin, don't be scared, I love you, and I'll always protect you." Gumball said with a smile.

"How cute! But disgusting." Penny snorted flipping her yellow/orangish hair. I felt myself bristle. "What do you mean, disgusting?!" I asked. She trotted over to Gumball, smirking. "I wouldn't expect you to be gay." She spat stepping on his foot. "Hey! Ugh! Oww!" Gumball said wincing. I saw Penny walk over to me. "I think everyone knows you like Gumball." She laughed.

"Stop it!" I whined. "Or what?!" Penny said in an annoyed tone of voice. I hesitated. Or what...? I wondered to myself. "IWILLFIGHTYOUPENNYFITZGERALD!!!LETUSGOLETUSGOLETUSGO!!!" I screamed. Penny frowned and grabbed tape, and began to tape my mouth shut.

I kicked my legs wildly,trying to get her off, I never felt so angered before. Gumball started to scream at Penny, I let myself fall still... I couldn't talk! Penny had taped my mouth shut and my arms were tied behind my back!!! "I'll be back, I need to grab something!"  Penny snarled bouncing up the steps, after I heard a click from the door, I looked at Gumball. I didn't know I what to do...so I gave a mumbled whisper.

"Darwin! Are you okay?!" He asked urgently, his ears lowering and his spiky hair blowing in the soft wind from a vent. I nodded my head vigorously, and then pointed my eyes to the vent. "What...Oh Oh OH!!!" I nodded as he understood. He flexed his claws. "Knew I'd use these one day!" He said boldly as he clawed his way from the bottom, releasing his arms and letting him get out of the rope.

He stood over me, I felt the ropes ripped off me, and I hugged him. He tore the tape off of my mouth. I kissed his cheek, he kissed my forehead in return. Thanks for getting me out!"I said and then hoisted him up as I ran to the vent. "Pull it off!" I instructed as I tightened my grip on his ankles. I felt him pull and pull and pull! He nearly fell backwards but I caught him.

He jumped up and nodded. "Grab my hand Darwin!" Gumball said hurriedly. I grabbed his hand and Gumball pulled me into the vent. I breathed heavily and quickly, "Let's go! Penny might find us!" I silently wailed as Gumball began to crawl. We were nearly there, but banging on the vent made me look. Someone was hitting it, and hard. "Agh!" I growled as I felt a punch to my stomach.

Gumball grabbed my hoodie and pulled me up along side him. "You okay?" He asked quietly. "Yea. Thanks for asking." I whispered. "Okay, so we need to get out of here, I can see outside but...it's really stuck!" Gumball said rounding a corner as a vent opening came into view, I pushed it. "Damn." I murmured as I ripped my hands off it, feeling little pains hit my palms.

Gumball kicked it, "Darwin! This is so stuck!" He said jamming a fist into it. "Aaa! That hurt!" I heard him say as he continuously attacked the opening. I looked at him. "Slow down, you're going to hurt yourself." I advised him as I hit it with my foot, as hard as I could. "How has this not broke?!" I asked pulling my foot back.

Gumball gave a grunt as he punched it once again. "Ow, I don't know, you start giving it all you got, and I will too!" Gumball said looking at me hopefully. "Let's do it." I accepted as I began to forcefully kick the vent, making my hair bounce. Gumball joined in and the vent began to creak and snap, Gumball kept laughing because of my hair, which made me laugh too. I kicked and punched, my arms and legs screaming with effort as they tightened when I gave another hard punch. Gumball seemed to be wincing and sweating as he closed his eyes tightly and kicked and punched.

The vent soon popped, Gumball shot out of it, I hurriedly grabbed him. He was dangling off the ground, not very high, but if you landed wrong, you'd be in the hospital. I held him tight, feeling his pulse."You're the best Darwin." He breathed looking at me happily. I let him go, he landed on his feet, like all cats do. I hopped down, Gumball catching me and twirling me. We both exploded into giggles as we ran down the sidewalk together. Surely our situation was awful...being kidnapped, but it only brought us closer together. Night had fallen and I had to rely on Gumball to guide me home because he has night vision.

We arrived home. "Boys!" Nicole joyously smiled wrapping us in a hug. She was like a female version of Gumball, but she had a serious attitude and was definitely a leader and a rebel. "Where were you two?" She asked letting us go. Gumball shrugged. "We got caught up at the park, sorry Mom." He said looking at me with a half grin.

I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I'm sorry too." I saw Anais give An intrigued face. Sure, the 4 year old was clever, after all, she was a year ahead of us in school, she has won awards as well. I watched as she trotted over and sat on the couch, her pink hair bobbing up and down as her pink, neat placed, rabbit ears flopped with her.

Richard, Nicole's husband, sat on the couch as well, asleep. He was a bit big, but it made him loveable, he looked like...well...A chubby pink rabbit! He doesn't work so he stays at home and keeps an eye on the house, usually on the TV or Fridge because those are two of his favorite things.

Nicole had fed us, she fed us Ramen Noodles because we got home so late, I was fine with it, they're really good so I didn't mind. After that I watched TV and then headed up to our room. As in our: I mean that Gumball, Anais, and I share a room. Anais was already in the room, she was reading on the top bunk bed.

"Hey Darwin." She said as she put down her book and looked at me with a smile. "Hi Anais." I replied with a smile in return. Gumball soon walked in, in his pajamas, black shorts and a white T-Shirt with red outlining on the sleeves and collar. "Why were you two so late home anyway?" She asked as she bounced down and sat on the floor, begging Gumball and I to sit with her.

I sat beside her and Gumball sat beside me. "We got carried up at the park." Gumball said. "No, the truth." She said as her smile grew. "You're not telling Mrs. Mom and Mr. Dad, okay?" I asked her with an eyebrow raised. "I swear!" She promised nodding. Gumball nodded. "Well...Penny kind of...Kidnapped us." He said slowly.

"WAIT WHAT?!" Anais said loudly. She then covered her mouth and let go. "Why?..." she asked in disbelief. "I don't know, she was being really mean and tied us up in her basement, but Gumball got us out because of his claws." I smiled looking at Gumball, who blushed and gave me a grin. "But Darwin found our way out, a vent." Gumball added.

Anais looked shocked. "She tied you guys up in her basement?! You know if you wouldn't of got out, she probably would've hurt you guys!" She pointed out as her eyebrows furrowed in disbelief. "And you escaped through a vent!" She said staring at Gumball and I. "Yeah." Gumball said frowning.

"She's insane!" Anais said angrily. "I know, it's fine, we're okay, I'm going to bed." I tiredly said leaving the room and putting on a blue shirt with grey shorts. As I entered the room Anais was angrily staring out the window. "What is it?" Gumball asked as we both walked over to us. Anais looked at us. "See for yourselves." She said.
