Darwin's POV:

I woke up, Gumball and I were still in the closet. I smiled to myself as I smelled his sweater. Kitty Smell. A thought hit me... School!!! I then woke Gumball up with panic. "Dude! We have school today!!!" I said rocking him. "Hmm?" Came a half asleep mumble from Gumball as he woke up. He stretched and kissed me and then helped me up.

He pushed the closet open, ( Anais must've unlocked it ) and checked the time. "It's 9:55! We can't make it! We're way too late!" Gumball groaned as he let out a yawn. It's way too late! I took a breath and wrapped my arms around him. "I love you." I murmured softly into his shoulder. I felt him purr, "I love you too Darwin." He purred as he pecked my cheek.

My face grew warm. He's cute when he wakes up, he's a mess right now, but he always looks adorable! I wanted to make him feel better today, after his experience last night. I was upset with him, but he doesn't get emotional like that all the time, he couldn't breath right, his breaths coming out in big gulps and him shuddering.

I trotted down stairs, "Mr.Dad, what about school today?" I asked noticing that Anais was already gone. "You two should stay home today, I think last night was a lot on you two, so I think we should relax together." Richard said giving a hopeful smile. Gumball soon walked down the stairs. "Yeah, we're late anyway, so it's okay." Gumball smiled as he walked into the kitchen.

"You sure Mr. Dad?" I simply asked as I sat down beside him on the couch. "Yeah, I mean why not? Maybe we could do something crazy today." He laughed as his eyes gave a twinkle. "Ynow, that'd be fun, so sure." I smiled crossing my legs. I darted my eyes to the kitchen and saw Gumball look out the window, as in a daze, I gave a little frown and looked away.

Hopefully he's not mad about last night or anything... "it's gloomy today." Came Gumball's voice, it was hoarse and cracked so he rubbed his throat. Richard looked at me quizzically but nodded at Gumball. "Last night." Was all I quietly whispered to him, he gave a sharp nod.

"Well, we could still go get some ice cream!" Richard smiled as he got up. "Sure!!!" I chirped hopping over the couch to stand beside Gumball. "Let me go get ready okay boys?" He said walking upstairs. "Gumball, you alright?" I murmured burying my head into his shoulder. He gave a purr. "Yeah, I'm fine." He said sounding better as he kissed my forehead softly.

"Good." I said with a smile as I gave his hand a quick squeeze before pulling away. "You two ready to go?" Richard asked stepping off the last stair and opening the front door. The day was dark, very dark... I climbed into the back of the car, I gave a bright smile as Gumball sat beside me, he usually sat up front, so I felt overjoyed.

I let myself slip closer to the window to see outside better, tiny rain drops began to fall, causing Richard to switch on the windshield wipers, making squeaky noises as they batted away the droplets.

I thought it was odd that Richard... ( Mr.Dad ) took us out for ice cream in the early morning and...letting us go out in public when we skipped school, I gave a shrug and nestled my head up against the seat to squeeze in extra minutes of sleep.

I felt a body curl up beside me, his head lay on top of mine and he gave me a smile. I gave a little sigh and a smile as I accepted his embrace. I felt happy, why was I so happy all the time anyway?

The boys ate their ice cream with Richard, but soon had to leave the parlor because the rain started to fall heavily, in a steady rhythm. They soon began to drive home, Richard cracking occasional jokes, getting laughs out of the two.

I hopped up the stairs into Gumball and I's Room, I sat on the floor and crossed my legs. As I was expecting, Gumball walked in and he sat down beside me. "Why're you sitting on the floor? We have places to sit!" He laughed elbowing me. "Hey Gumball?" "What?" "I Love You." "I Love You Too Bubble Cheeks." He purred kissing my face.

"The whole Penny thing..." I started. "We'll deal with it whenever it happens." Gumball said wrapping an arm around me. I nodded and grabbed his hand comfortingly. Nothing could ever break us.
