Author's Note: I'm stopping the Inventory Check as it got tedious to do. You have to keep track as you go along.
Zero crept along the Great Bridge. He was unnerved, especially since the two lycanthropes at the end had caused quite a few deaths. Another brick ogre and a posse of crows stood towards the end of the bridge, they were easily dispatched. The other end was quiet. There was no lamp and that was...strange.
Then something massive jumped over the gate. A beast, frighteningly tall. It was grotesque, it's left arm massive compared to the right. Zero was traumatized. He couldn't move but his eyes felt slightly more open, somehow. It felt as if his mind had been expanded. He was terrified but he realized something. The Beast was more afraid of him. He used this to his advantage.
Zero cut right, dodging a heavy swing. He capitalized, getting three swings on the Beast. He leaped back, towards the entrance of the bridge. He pulled out his pistol and fired three shots. The Beast crumpled. "Now's the perfect opportunity" Zero thought. He ran forward and shoved his sword through the Beast's head. Zero screamed and yanked his sword back, carrying some brain matter with it.
The Beast died with a shrill shout, leaving behind only a lantern. Zero lit it quickly, then returned to the Hunter's Dream. He collected all of the echoes the Beast had left and was feeling far too powerful for his own good.
