Have you ever been told you're beautiful?
I don't mean when someone says you're pretty,
Or cute, but when you genuinely bare your soul
For all to see-
Has anyone but me seen that beauty?
Have you ever been told you're caring?
Not just caring, or kind, or sweet, but when
You truly listen to others' worries and disregard
Your own- have you cared for others like you have for me?
Have you ever been told you're astounding?
Not astounding because of academics,
Or because of futile things like grades,
But because you help others grow as a person
Just by being yourself- truly astounding.
Have you ever been told 'I love you?'
I may not be the first to see your beauty,
Or the first for you to have cared for,
Or the first to witness how astounding you are,
But may I be the last to say 'I love you?'
Because when I close my eyes all I see is your
Dazzling smile behind my dark eyelids,
Which only reminds me that I truly do.♡
