Hey guys! I'm sorry for the current cover, it does actually say 'boss' but the sizing and format kept adjusting the wrong way and after trying to fix it for 10 minutes, I gave up!

I know authors notes are not the most exciting thing, but I did just want to say thank you for taking an interest in this book and hope you enjoy!

I'm not perfect, and will never claim to be, so constructive criticism is always welcomed! Just please remember, people make mistakes and I know I will make plenty of mistakes!

I'd love to hear what you guys think, please let me know! I'll try my best to limit authors notes throughout the rest of the book for your reading pleasure :)

Without further adieu, 'You're The Boss'!!

Waking up was definitely not the best part of the day.

Lyra groaned as the alarm on her phone blasted into her ear. Why does waking up always have to be so annoying?

Leaning over to turn the alarm off, she slowly closed her eyes again nestling into her pillow. Drifting off, she was finally settled back in.

Until the ringing came back. Of course she could never trust herself to fully wake up after the first alarm, so she always set multiple as a precaution. Yelling nothing in particular to the empty room, she dragged herself out of bed and to the bathroom.

She washed her face with a wash cloth splashed with some cold water to wake her up, before dragging herself into the kitchen. Setting up her Keurig, she walked over and turned on the news as she waited for her hot tea to spit out. A girl needed her caffeine, and coffee was not her friend.

It was the first day as an employee with the Julice and Averi company, and despite working her ass off to get into this company she was still just as shocked about landing the job as she was when she found out. The company was incredibly respected, and incredibly difficult to become a part of especially if you're going for a position that there's only one of.

After finishing her tea, she made her way back into her bedroom and into her bathroom to take the longest and hottest possible shower she could. After 25 minutes, she decided she was as wrinkly as she wanted to be, and turned the water off before wrapping herself in the coziest towel Bed Bath and Beyond had to offer. There were a lot of things she learned in her childhood, like how important a decent shower is for the body. She always made a point of that.

Dressing in a pair of black skinny dress pants and white chiffon button up shirt paired with a navy blue blazer, she walked out of her room and to her living room where she heard a familiar name broadcasted on the news. Athen Creek. Why did that name sound so familiar?

Finally realization hit when his face flashed across the screen in some article about the hottest and most successful men in Los Angeles. She scoffed at the idea of that, completely undermining the hard work the men put into their careers and the morals they stood for just to be ranked by how cute they are and how much money they have. Some of those men were evil money hungry thieves, but because of their jawline, are praised. There are also some of the kindest hard working men she had ever met on there, and she felt sorry for them to be grouped in with such greedy people. And the rest of the men, like her soon to be boss, she simply had not met and didn't have enough information to judge them.

While she only briefly saw his face flash on the screen, Lyra was astonished at just how handsome he really was. He was known to be trouble, and that's something she needed to stay away from at all costs. She had just gotten her life together, she couldn't let that all unravel with silly thoughts about how hot her boss was.

Going back into her bathroom, she brushed her long brownish-blonde hair free of knots and then proceeded to put on a simple makeup look. With freckles scattered across her nose and her bright green eyes always shining with that hint of gold, she found less was better. She was never one for makeup when she was younger, but part of being successful was looking successful and if that meant a little eye liner and few swipes of mascara, then she didn't mind.

Slipping on a pair of simple Navy blue heels and turning the tv off, she grabbed her belongings and turned all of the lights off before exiting to her car. It wasn't brand new or anything fancy, but for working through college and having a place to live, ( with a mediocre job ) it was pretty nice. She unlocked her 2007 Toyota Camry with a little pride, coming from where she was to having what she does before even starting her career, she had a right to be proud.

Arriving at the enormous building took a 10 minute drive into the city with how close to the edge of the city and suburbs she was. Walking into the steel gray sky scraper, she walked straight to the elevator and up to the last floor where her new office would be. As she heard the final ding, signaling she was at her floor she stopped. The doors opened as she looked around, looking down at her watch and seeing the time: 7:25. 5 minutes early. Taking a deep breath she tried to settle the nerves exploding in her body. Smiling, she stepped out ready to take on the next adventure.
