"HELP!! CHARLIE!! KATRINA, SOMEONE, PLEASE HELP ME!!"

I was sobbing hysterically, unable to move from where I sat. I could hear someone coming up behind me but I couldn't will myself to turn.

"Lyra!!! Lyra, what happened?!"

The first voice was Charlie's, followed by another frantic voice. "Son of a- Lyra, what's wrong?!" Katrina reached me first, crouching in front of me as she held my face. "Lyra, what happened, tell us what's wrong!"

Charlie came into view, but like Katrina, she was a blurry form. I couldn't stop sobbing, terrified, distraught and shocked all at once.

Katrina scooted closer. "Lyra, tell me-! Oh my god.."

I suddenly gripped her shoulders like a madman. "You can't tell them!!" I exclaimed between sobs. "P-Please tell me y-you won't tell them!!"

Charlie asked, "Lyra, what the hell are you talking about?!"

"I LOST IT!!!" I was crying hysterically now, pain wrapping around my whole body as I broke down.

I didn't know. I couldn't have known.

There was no one, nothing that could've told me.

'This isn't happening!!'

Katrina gripped my shoulders, not saying anything for a minute. "Lyra... We have to go. We can't stay any longer. I'm sorry."

I just cried, unable to process any of it. My brain was shutting down on me. My wails could've been heard for miles, but I just didn't care. "Please don't tell them! Please, I'm begging you!!"

Charlie nudged Katrina aside, nudging whatever was left on my underwear onto the ground. "We won't," she all but whispered, helping me pull my pants back up." "Charlie!" Katrina yelled out her name, but all Charlie did was repeat herself.

"We won't tell them."

I simply cried as Charlie picked me up. "Katrina, run ahead!" Charlie snapped."Now! We don't need to spread out too far! I have to run by foot to shelter!"

"We can't risk that, Charlie, and you know it!!" Katrina hollered.

She glanced down at my crumpled-up form and sighed. "Fine!! I'll shift again, but we'll have to run carefully the whole way there!"

I didn't hear anything after that. I simply closed my eyes, tears making their way out of my eyes regardless.

"I lost it... Charlie, I lost it..." I croaked, trembling almost violently in her arms.

She shushed me before finally shifting, holding my small, frail body to hers. I continued to repeat the same thing over and over again, until my voice died on me.

All I could remember was the cold hitting my body and adding onto the pain I was already feeling.

Eventually, I just closed my eyes, no longer wanting to believe I was ever awake to begin with.
