The rest of the week was basically the same. Staring at him until he noticed so I turned around and blushed.
I want to talk to him, I really do... I just can't. I even practiced with my cardboard.
This Wednesday he even asked me if he could borrow a pencil of mine... but I froze, and Jade gave him one.
Today is Saturday and in Canberra, January is the hottest month, so I am lying on my bed, wearing really short shorts and Kyle is sitting on the floor. With the windows open and some cool snacks mom made for us.
-Kyle, what should I do? He is just so perfect and cute and nice... probably.
-So you haven't said a word to him?- He asked with his mouth full of fruit.
-Not even half of a word. He gets me nervous.- I say, taking some snacks for me too -I always thought of what I would say to Paul McCartney... but it's so difficult to talk to him in person...
-Pft, and you would totally ask him about John or where does he get the ideas and inspiration for his songs... Miles isn't Paul, Annie, Miles is Miles... and he seems like a...- he said without finishing the sentence because he couldn't find an insult without a curse word.
-...A fool who plays it cool?- I asked smiling.
-Exactly.
My mom entered the room to take the plate that was empty now to the kitchen.
-Thank you Mrs. Jacks- said, Kyle.
I kept thinking about him, and how much he probably hates me... or even fears me. Imagine having the weird girl of the school staring at you and not saying a word. I hate myself, the real Paul would probably tell me not to worry, so I don't because Paul is a wise man.
-Anna, it's simple, you just have to talk to him.
-About what? With what tone?
-Ugh... about... him? And with the tone that an old lady would use to talk to her naughty grandkids...
-Kyle, I'm serious!- I say, and now I think I'm about to cry.
-Hey, hey! I was just kidding, talk about school, ask him if he likes Canberra so far, maybe he can ask you to show him the place, and talk with a confident tone, pretend you know everything, even if you don't.
I smile. That is actually a good idea. I have lived in Canberra all my life, I could show him all the place and take him to the good restaurants.
-Kyle, you are a genius! I don't know why you don't have a boyfriend this far!
-Anne, if I wanted a man... I would have one sitting next to me right now -He answers, winking at me, as I throw him a pillow and he answers back.
We have a pillow fight for no more than ten minutes because it is really hot outside, but then he makes me practice a conversation with cardboard Paul.
The little problem in here is that the cardboard is Paul in 1961 and Miles looks like Paul in 1964, even if that was just three years apart, he really changed. So I don't feel like talking to Miles, I feel like I'm talking to the good ol' Paul.

Hey I know you are a little bit bored so far, but I just can't make them fall in love in the third chapter, so hold on, we still have a lot of story to tell.
