AMARA STOOD IN LINE FOR THE BUS TO WASHINGTON, ONLY ON THE VERGE OF CONSCIOUSNESS. Just as they were about to board the bus, Peter came running towards the bus making Amara push off of the bus, a smile on her face. Despite Flash's protests, Peter was easily allowed onto the bus and Flash was back to being first alternate — much to his disliking.
The bus ride was filled with the ringing of bells and urgent shouting, Amara participating in said shouting. After almost an hour straight (or at least what felt like it) of answering Liz's quick fire questions, Amara moved away from the group at the front and dropped down on a seat two rows behind Ned who seemed to have had the same idea as her.
She slouched in her seat and snuggled against the bus window, shutting her eyes. Her attempt to try and sleep was interrupted by the quieter part of the bus being intruded by Peter Parker talking into his phone.
Amara's head perked up from behind Peter's seat sleepily as he said goodbye to whoever he had been on the phone to. He hung up with an exaggerated sigh and leaned back in his seat, jumping up with a yelp when he saw Amara sitting behind him.
An amused smile tugged at Amara's lips at Peter's taken aback expression, "Hi."
Peter let out a long breath, his hand on his quickly beating heart, "Hi."
"Sorry for scaring you." she apologised half-heartedly.
"Scaring me?" Peter scoffed, "You didn't scare me, I'm cool, like ice cold."
Behind the boy, Amara could see Ned shaking his head at his friend and facepalming.
"The coolest," Amara nodded, holding back a laugh, "I actually had a question for you, Mr. Ice Cold."
As if just realising his own words, Peter visibly cringed, "That wasn't a cool thing to say, was it?"
"Are you kidding? That was the coolest thing I've ever heard."
Peter took the words a little more seriously than he should have, a flattered smile appearing on his face, "Really?"
"Definitely," she snorted quietly, hoping Peter wouldn't notice. "So, my question,"
Peter nodded, "Your question,"
"Now this might be a little intruding so feel free to not answer but I was wondering, you know Spider-Man, right? I heard about the party thing but not much."
"Uh, yeah. I guess so."
"So, do you know who he is by any chance?"
Peter's eyes widened and he looked back to Ned who's expression mirrored his. He gave him a begging look but he shrugged and gave him a hopeless shrug in return. Peter looked back to Amara who's eyebrows were raised at the interaction, still desperately awaiting an answer.
Peter's voice turned unnaturally high pitched, "Nope, I can't say I do. Why do you ask?"
Amara's eyebrows furrowed at his formality, "...Just wondering..."
