You're my only

Chapter 8

I knew I shouldn't have been outside this late. I knew he was following me and I knew he'd catch up to me a lot sooner than I wanted him to. It was extremely cold and I felt my body trembling and I glanced back to see him not far behind me. I turned around to run straight into the man I call my father. I screamed for help, but no one seemed to hear my scream. Not that they ever did. 

"You're mine and once I'm done with you, you won't be able to walk let alone run away again." My father said just before I was jolted awake by Hayden.

"You were having a bad dream." He said as I tried to catch my breath. I hated nightmares. They always felt too real. I smiled up to him as I nodded. There was no point in lying. He'd see right through me. I'm terrible at lying.

"I'm okay." I said as I pulled myself into a sitting position. I noticed that Hayden was strangely quiet and I was worried. Why was I worried? "Hayden? What's wrong?"  I questioned.

He pulled his lip from between his teeth and cleared his throat. "I did some research." Was the only thing he said.

"Research on what?" I asked as I stood up to walk to the window. Hayden followed me.

"You." He said nervously. Me? What is there to research about me other than my dad maybe. 

"With my dad?" I started to say, but he cut me off.

"No. With your wolf. I've already had people look into your dad babes. But here the thing. I called up a few trusted people who have access to books about the moon goddess and you and I found out a few things. You will always be the descendant of the moon goddess, but you won't have you're wolf as a regular wolf would. Being your mom is the moon goddess,  you inherited some things from her. The moon goddess herself doesn't have a wolf. She chose for you to have werewolf parent is so you would have a wolf. The fault in that is that you won't have your wolf for the duration of your life. You will only have it until you complete the mating process." He paused for a moment and I was shocked.

 I had only just gotten my wolf and I won't have her forever. I know I shouldn't be attached to her yet, but it was nice to always have another presence with me even if it was just in my head. "Once you complete the mating process, you will gain the lifespan of your mate, but you will go back to having your human qualities." He said as he ran his fingers through his hair."

"The mating process?" I said softly as I was trying to grasp all of the information. It was a lot to take in. I guess it could be worse. He could have said I was going t die in the next few hours, but I'm physically fine. My wolf won't be though. "I'm so confused." I stated as I stared out the window down to the garden full of different kinds of flowers. I had always been fascinated by flowers but my favorite was always sunflowers. Hayden grasped my arm and pulled me into his arms. My body molded to his perfectly as it always did when he gave me hugs. 

"I know it's a lot to put on you, but it's important for you to know.  I'll be here for you all of the way. The mating process is pretty simple, but it's extremely important in the werewolf world." He said as he leaned down to me. "The first step is for me to bite you. Right here." He pressed his lip onto my neck and softly bit me. 

I yelped as I pulled away. "What? Does it hurt?" I questioned as I brought my hand to where his lips were. I bit my lip to push away some of my thoughts that weren't the most innocent. Hayden's lips spread into a smile as he pulled my body against his. 

"Not in the slightest bit. You'll be begging for me." He huskily said into my ear before be pulled back and gave me a devilish grin. I felt my cheeks heat up as I bit my bottom lip. He knew exactly what he was doing. "Why the blush beautiful?" He questioned with a smirk.

That only caused my cheeks to burn ever more. I can't believe he was doing this to me. Beautiful. He called me beautiful. I smiled up to him and just shook my head. He sent me a wink and chuckled.

"Now if you got this excited about the first part and can't wait to see your reaction to the next step." He said through his laughter. 

"Hey!" I tried to defend myself, but found myself at a loss for words. I hid my face into his chest and kept it there for his next response.

"Well being the next step would be having sex with me, I would like to think you're gonna be very excited. If you know what I mean." He whispered the last part into my ear. I gasped as I pulled away from him in embarrassment. Hayden chuckled before sobering up. "In all seriousness, This process is in no rush. It will only occur when you are ready. However long that may take. It is going to be completely up to you and I will talk you through everything and we will go as slow as you want things to go." 

I nodded and took a deep breath. Sex doesn't scare me. I know what it should and shouldn't be. That doesn't mean I'm ready for that anytime soon. I just met Hayden and if I wanted to be technical with things, Hayden did kidnap me. He drugged me just to get me to come home with him. I know that there was no other way I would have ended up here, but the situation just looks bad. When we complete the mating process I'll lose my wolf too. I guess it's not that bad being I've only been in that form once. It hurt way too much. Hayden did mention that it gets easier after a couple of time, but I have a zero for a pain tolerance and I don't know if I want to attempt changing again. I'm probably the first wolf to ever not want to change into my wolf form. In my defense, I did grow up thinking things like this didn't exist. I shook myself from my thought as I realised I was defending myself from my own thoughts.

"I appreciate it. Most guys wouldn't be that considerate." I stated and looked from the flower garden that seemed to capture my attention. 

Hayden smirked at me before he said, "If you haven't noticed, I'm quite different from most guys." As he gestured to himself before he walked out of the room laughing. I rolled my eyes at how immature he was before I let the flower garden capture my attention.
