Chapter 6

Chapter 6:

Pain was all I could feel, other than Hayden's hand slowly running up and down my back. My bones had been breaking for what seems like hours. "I don't want this Hayden. Make it stop. I can't take it!" I whispered because all my energy had left my body. I didn't even have the strength to yell out in pain anymore.

"You're almost there baby. Just a little more." He said looking down at me. He moved his hand to my cheek and left it there. I gasped as my spine started to crack. "You'll be okay." He whispered as he squeezed his eyes shut right before it broke. My mouth released a scream of pain and I slowly drifted into the darkness's opened arms.

~Hayden's Pov~

I hated this. I hated that she was in pain and I couldn't do a thing about it. What kind of mate am I? I can't even do anything when she's in pain and I'm perfectly fine, physically that is. Mentally, I think I'm a mess. I looked down at the curled up girl in my lap and knew she would be fine even though she may not seem like it now.

She kept pleading to me to make it stop and it broke my heart every time. I heard her spin cracking and I knew this was the worst part. I quickly told her that she'd be okay and squeezed my eyes shut as I heard the break and her scream. I felt her breathing turn heavy as I looked down at her pure white wolf lying in my lap. WAIT! White? My wolf yelled in my head. I flinched at the loudness of his voice and brought her wolf closer to me as I stood up. You can see. I stated back as I walked through my back door towards the woods. I didn't particularly want her to tear up our house before she even realizes that now it's hers.

Going back to the thoughts of what her dad has done to her just rages my temper! How could he? Who would do that to their child? Their own flesh, I just don't understand! He took one of the things that was supposed to be mine and almost took the only thing I can ever love. Ever care about. Her. He took her first time and that was mine! Only I was supposed to see her body! No other man! Just me! I will kill him. I will NOT stop until he's six feet under the earth and stays there.

I felt Ivy move so I softly set her down in the clearing and slowly backed up to give her space. Slowly she opened her eyes and I gasped as I saw the color. They were silver mixed with the lightest blue I have ever seen. I looked back at her as my thoughts finally clicked. I'm mated to the descendant of the moon goddess!

~ Ivy's Pov~

When I woke up I realized I was outside on the ground. My head felt like it was about to explode. I tried to sit up, but when I did, I caught sight of the white fur on me. I really am a wolf. Hayden hadn't been lying to me.

'He's our mate. He wouldn't lie to us.' Someone said.

I quickly looked around for someone and I saw Hayden by a tree. I tried talking to him, but the only thing to come out was a weird sounding bark.

Hayden smiled at me and then softly spoke. "Think of your human. What it's like to be human. What you look like." He said as he quickly took off his shirt.

'That's odd' I thought as I did what he said. I thought of my arms and legs. Of my face and hair. The next thing I know, I'm myself again. Hayden threw his shirt at me and turned around. I looked down and realized I was naked. "Crap!" I whispered and put on his shirt quickly.

I stood up and walked over to Hayden. "Hayden? " I said softly. He turned around slowly and placed his hand on my cheek. I nearly jumped away as the sparks that I felt the last time multiplied. It didn't hurt, I just wasn't expecting it.

"Yes love?" he said as he ran his thumb across my cheek.

"I think I may be going insane. I swear I heard a girl talking." I said as I grip his free hand into mine. I mean I did hear her right? 'Of course you heard me!' She said. There it is again! I jerk away from Hayden and trip backwards over a limb. I feel myself falling so I squeeze my eyes shut as I brace myself for the fall, but instead I feel arms wrap around my waist and pull me back up.

I look up and meet Hayden's eyes. "I-I swears I am." I whisper.

Hayden bites his lip trying to stop a smile, but fails as he ends up laughing at me. He's laughing at me? Seriously? I felt my jaw drop as I look at him. He's seriously laughing at me when I'm trying to not go insane.

"You're not going insane princess. It's your wolf. I think your wolfs a little trickster though. They normally tell you who they are, but yours seems to like you freaking out." Hayden said with a smile.

"My wolf? As in what I just turned into? It can talk even when I'm not in that form?" I asked as wrapped my arms around Hayden's torso. I mainly wanted to feel the sparks, but another part of me felt complete this way.

"Precisely." He said as he wrapped his arms around me as well.

"The sparks. Did yours get stronger?" I questioned and then thought about our conversation about mates. "I'm your mate, aren't I? I wouldn't have gotten so jealous at the thought of you with someone else and I know I'm being blunt when I ask, but I just figure it's better to say what needs to be asked rather than just me wondering." I cut myself off from rambling and look up to see him grinning.

"It only took you forever to realize it." He said sarcastically as he chuckled. 

"Hey! I think I figured it out in a adequate amount of time thank you." I said defensively. I couldn't contain my grin as he grabbed my sides. 

 "Come on princess. Lets go home."
