"I-I don't w-want you t-to go," Janya sniffs, tears were streaming down her face and her eyes were puffy from crying. Her mother was leaving today, and she honestly didn't want this woman to go.

"I'll see you soon, alright? Don't worry about me too much pumpkin, you'll see me soon," Candice brought her daughter into a hug and kissed her nose. "I love you."

"Love you too," Janya whispers softly before pulling away wiping her eyes sighing.

"Bye momma," Keith spoke hugging his mother tightly before putting a kiss on her forehead since he pretty much towered over her. He'll be seeing her soon when school starts, but he still doesn't want her to leave.

"I'll see you boys later," Candice waves at her diverse group of sons.

"Bye," Jason waves with a slight pout on his lips.

"Be safe!" Zayn calls out waving.

"I'll be back y'all," William spoke before walking out the mansion with Candice.

"Let's be nosey," Keith says pulling Janya's wrist so they could follow their parents outside.

They could see their mother's car in the driveway. William looked quite sad as they talked and Candice looked pretty sad too.

"I w-want them together s-so bad Keith," Janya whispers.

"I do too," Keith sighs.

Next thing you know William had leaned in giving his ex-wife a loving kiss on her lips causing both of their kids to gasp. He pulled away and the look in her mother's eyes screamed the word "love" but then a look of hurt washed over her face.

"What h-happened?" Janya asked her big brother shaking arm.

"I-I don't know," Keith says worriedly.

Soon Candice was in her car pulling out the driveway while William stood there with his head down in defeat. Just before William was about to turn around Keith grabbed Janya's hand and ran back into the house.

"Shit, we almost got caught," Keith breathes. "Listen..don't worry about anything, alright? Momma and Pops are gonna be fine."

"Y-You sure?" Janya asks worriedly.

"I'm positive," Keith says, but he doesn't know if it was true and he didn't want his little sister to get her hopes up. But he had to stay positive.

Janya walked away and went upstairs to her bedroom so she could try and distract herself from thinking negatively. She wanted her parents back together, was that too much to ask for?

Meanwhile, Keith went into the kitchen to distract himself by eating food. There was leftovers from the party yesterday, so he helped himself with some macaroni n' cheese his mom cooked, and that made it all worse.

The sound of the front door closing caught his attention and he knew that his dad was in the house now. Seconds later his dad walked in the kitchen looking stressed as ever.

"You okay Pops?" Keith asks already knowing the answer.

"No," he groans closing his eyes and shaking his head. "I feel horrible."

"What happened?" Keith asks curiously.

"I kissed her a-and..I just freaked out," William confesses. "It seems like I regret it kissing her..but I didn't."

"Why did you freak out?" Keith asks with a frown.

William rubbed his forehead, "Because I think I still love her."

"Then go after her Pops!" Keith tries to shout in a respective tone.

"It's not that easy Keith," his father spoke looking at him. "I can't just go after her."

"Yes you can!" Keith stresses. "If you love her then you should let her know. Don't make this mistake of not chasing after her. She loves you, I-I can just see it Pops."

"What should I do?" William sighs. He just sounded so weak right now, asking his seventeen year old son for marriage advice.

Keith placed his hand on his father's shoulder, "Go get your woman back."

"You're right lil man," William spoke softly.

"I'll hold the fort down," Keith assures. "But you gotta do what you gotta do."

"Just..don't tell Janya, alright? I don't want her to get her hopes up and I come back home with nothing," William pleads.

"I won't, but you gotta be confident," Keith says patting his father's shoulder.

William nodded, "I'll get to packing and leave. I might be gone for a day or two, but hold it down, alright?"

"I will," Keith smiles.

"Thanks son," William says gratefully before walking out of the kitchen.

"And dad?" Keith called out.

"Yeah," the older man looks at him.

Keith grinned mischievously, "Bring back another sibling will ya?"

William rolled his eyes, "Shut up boy."

this was a short filler chapter :) i feel like it is important to give some insight in William's & Candice's relationship because this gives me the perfect way to set up some drama .

but who's ready to bring back an old friend & meet some new characters ??
