Sacho stands at his desk and he stops me as soon as I walk into the office.
"We must go," he says, my body waiting as he comes towards me. He signals for me to follow him and our footsteps echo, my jaw clenched as I follow him. This is irritating for I have no idea what to expect.
"Wait here," he demands, my head nodding. He types in another key code and the door opens, a set of stairs standing there. He has me follow him down the stairs and I take in the sight around me. A perfectly clean room, a light blue color, and I'm suddenly afraid to touch anything. I feel out of place in my all black outfit, seeming as though everything is pristine in this room. So pure.
"Arabella," I hear Sacho say, knocking on another door. I don't hear anything and I look around. There aren't any pictures, only books and notebooks. It saddens me to think this girl's life has been taken away just for her father's job, but yet again, so has mine.
When I turn back around, my body freezes and I try not to stare at the girl in front of me. I'm so taken aback by what this girl looks like, I nearly can't look again.
"Harry, this is Arabella. Arabella, Harry will be your bodyguard while at school. He's here to protect you, no matter what," Sacho says, my eyes moving back to the girl.
She has to be my age, possibly younger, but I'm stunned. I've never seen eyes so blue before. And her hair is as dark as the night. She's so striking that it's hard to keep eye contact. It's a type of attraction I've never had before and I know I'm already fucked. This is going to be hard.
"It's nice to meet you, Arabella," I say, her eyes locking with mine again.
"You too, Harry," she says, the soft sound shy. It's clear she doesn't have much human interaction. If given the opportunity, I'm sure she's very quiet.
"Well, I don't want you to be late. The driver is here so you should get to your class," Sacho says, grabbing her arms. He kisses her temple and I wait, Sacho looking at me. It's almost a warning, ensuring his daughter's safety. I just give him a firm nod and wait for Arabella to gather her things.
She gets ready and I walk to the garage, opening the car door for her. I don't hear any response and I understand. Afterall, I technically work for her. Then I get into the passenger's seat and the driver takes her where she is going.
We stop in front of the community college and I feel my phone buzz.
Sacho: Don't let her out of your sight or you're done.
I take a deep breath, my eyes closing. If I fuck this up, I'm damn sure I might be killed.
My hand opens the door to the car and Arabella steps out, my hand taking hers as she steps down. I grab her bag and she pulls it on her shoulder, her head peering up at me.
"Will you help me with my shoe?" she whispers, my eyes glancing to see her shoe untied. I kneel down and tie it for her, standing up again.
"Thank you," she says, her hands holding her books. I follow behind her and shove someone out of her way, his scared eyes meeting mine before he runs away.
"Arabella! My darling!" I hear a man yell, her feet stopping. I look over and see what looks to be a frat boy walking her way, and I clench my jaw.
"Do you like him?" I whisper quickly, her head shaking no just as fast. I flip my position to stand in front of her and the man stops, his head leaning to look at her.
"You better move the fuck along," I say, his eyebrows furrowing.
"Dude, what the fuck? Let me talk to her," he tries, and I feel Arabella move closer to me. I'm sure she's hiding.
"Don't bother with her. She doesn't want you," I say, my stomach turning as I feel her hand set on my back. It's such a small action and I know she's already finding protection in me. At least I know my job will be easy.
"Well, when you're not here, I'll have my chance," he tries, and I grab his collar. I shove him against the wall and his eyes widen.
"You talk to her, and I'll fuck up your face. She doesn't need a twat like you talking to her. Besides, you won't ever see her without me by her side," I say, his body set down.
"Geez, not fucking worth it," he groans, walking away. I turn to Arabella and she brushes her hair behind her ear, my hand setting on her arm. She looks up and I look down at her, trying not to stare too hard.
"You alright?" I ask, her head nodding. "Then let's get you to class."
We walk the hall and she guides me to her classroom, my body standing in the back of the hall. My eyes scan the room and I make sure nothing could come at her. But my body stiffens and I walk into the hall at the sight of one of the Bone Thrasher's members. Zayn, the leader's son, is walking in and I run up the stairs to sit beside Arabella. She glances at me, but my eyes stay focused on Zayn.
He looks around and I whisper to Arabella to duck, her body crouching in front of her. I do as well and she looks at me.
"What..." she trails when I put my finger on my lips, signalling to be quiet. I manage to look up and I see him walk out of the hall, my body sitting back up. She does as well and I look at her, her blue eyes concerned.
"A member of Bone Thrashers was here. I had to make sure he knew you weren't here," I state, her head nodding. My eyes scan the hall once more before I start to get up, but she stops me. Her small hand wraps around my forearm and I stop, her hand tugging me toward her.
"Stay here with me," she says, my eyebrows furrowing.
"I have to watch the doorways," I say, but she shakes her head.
"Just sit here. I feel safer beside you," she whispers, my lips releasing a sigh. I listen to her, staying beside her as she studies. I never finished high school, so listening to what she's learning is like hearing someone speak Chinese to me. It looks like she's studying medicine, a lot of biology in the notes.
The lecture is dismissed and I stand, Arabella packing up her things. Then I reach out, taking her hand, and she stumbles standing up. Her body falls into mine and she looks up at me, my eyes watching her flush. My eyes can't look away from her, something about her catching my eye. Not many girls encounter me the way she is, and I need to keep her safe. If I don't, my life is on the line.
"Are you ready?" I ask,her body moving away. I let go of her hand and she nods, her body walking in front of me.
We go to the commons area and she sets up her laptop and notes, studying. I watch the surroundings, sitting a few tables away to give her some space.
"Harry," I hear her call, my body getting up and moving towards her.
Arabella reaches for my hand and she tugs me down, leaning to whisper in my ear.
"Zayn is here," she whispers, my hand tightening on hers.
"Pack up your stuff and I'll take you to your next class early," I rush, her head nodding. I let her hand go and stand, spotting the dark-haired man. He has yet to look over and I move to have my back face him, my body hiding Arabella.
"Ready?" I ask, her eyes looking into mine. She only nods and I follow her as she leads me to her next class. All I need is Zayn to not follow us and she'll be safer than ever. But that's what I am. Her bodyguard, to ensure her safety no matter what.
