Lance's POV:

I sat at the water, staring into the open ocean. Hearing footsteps, I immediately whip my head around to find Shiro walking over to me. "Lance!" He says while waving. I wave back, and he makes his way to sit down next to me on the sand. "So.. How are you?" He asks me. Why do you care...? "I'm doing fine," I say blankly. "It's just that.. It's been so long. We only came back two months ago. I can't imagine what I put my family through when we left Earth." "Lance..." He says, putting a cold metal hand on my shoulder. "It's not your fault. You didn't have a choice but to escape. Think of all the things that wouldn't have happened. Piloting Blue, forming Voltron, defeating Zarkon, and freeing everyone in the universe. Your family must be proud of you." "But still. What did I put my family through? I put them through misery. They thought I was dead. The only thing I wanted to do was go home. Don't get me wrong— I'm glad we helped so many people.. but really. And when I returned home, they were so happy. And acted like nothing ever happened. They were fine when I was gone. Maybe I'm just an addition to the family that they never needed." I bury my face into my knees. I'm never needed. They could've saved the universe without me. Allura could've piloted Blue the whole time. "Lance. Don't feel like you weren't needed. I'm sure they cared about you very much, and wished for you to be home every single day. So don't put yourself down like that." I let out a faint smile.
