Marissa's POV

I awoke a little while later in a cell. I looked around and saw that the cell was probably eight by eight feet big. It was actually pretty small. I noticed that I was chained to a wall. I looked at the chain, seeing that I could probably move a lot because the chain was so long.

I heard a movement and looked around the cell once more, finally noticing that I wasn't the only one here. I looked around again and saw that there was three other people in here. I looked at the one that made the movement and heard sniffling.

"Hey," I whispered. "Are you okay?"

The person turned around and I gasped in shock. There laid Livie, her face tear-stained and puffy. She gasped as well and crawled over to me. No other words were exchanged as she snuggled into my side and bawled her eyes out. God, I hated seeing my best friend crying.

I heard another noise and turned to see none other than Ellie looking over at us. She smiled and crawled over to us. She hugged us and cried.

"I-I thought you guys were d-dead!" she sobbed.

"No, Ellie," I said softly. "It takes a lot to kill us."

She giggled and nodded.

"I've noticed," she said.

"E-Ellie," Livie sniffled. "Can you please explain to us what just happened?"

Ellie begrudgingly nodded and started explaining how werewolves were real and all the things I'd hoped for since I was ten. She told us about Alpha's and Luna's and their parts in a pack. Then she told us about the Beta and Beta Female and the Third-in-command. She explained to us what it meant exactly to have a mate and to be a mate.

Sadly, though, poor Ellie hasn't found her mate yet. She hopes to one day, but that day just hasn't come yet. The more Livie and I talked to her, the more that I realized we would become great friends. She was everything Damon said she was and more. She was so funny and witty and kind all at the same time.

When Livie told her about mine and Jarred's past, Ellie flipped out! She was so mad that I swear if she could go wolf, she would. But she won't. She'd be too afraid that she'd hurt one of us. Whether it was me, or Livie, or even the mystery person still lying on the ground about two feet from us.

Oh, he's moving. One moment, please.

"Excuse me," I whispered to her. "Are you okay?"

The mystery person turned and I saw that it was indeed a female with us. She was a beautiful red head with gorgeous brown eyes that were to die for. Her eyes looked tired but at the same time so full of hope and belief that she was going to get out of here. And she will, if I have any say so at least.

She was wearing a ripped crop top that said 'Hello' across the boobs in green. She had on a pair of green skinny jeans that were also ripped. She had a pair of green knee high converses on her feet.

"I'm fine," she said in a small voice. "Thank you."

"What's your name?" Ellie asked softly as well.

"Cassandra," the girl said. "But you can call me Cassie."

"You're a werewolf," Ellie stated.

"Yes. I'm sixteen."

"What's your story?" I asked. "Why are you here?"

"My pack was destroyed by rouges a month ago," she said sadly. "All the survivors were taken and placed here. My whole family's here. I can hear them talking through the mind-link; that's the only thing they can't take from us. Since we're family, we can still communicate with each other, even without the pack-link."
