god i hate the number 4.

Jack went into the kitchen and heated up some popcorn. I wasn't hungry at all, but he forced me to eat some. Once we got to the half popped ones, it was war. We both grabbed as many as we could before the bowl was empty, and we both ate them like they were the last known food on earth.

"Have you ever been to the park?" He said placing the bowl in the sink. I shook my head.

"Since it's nice outside today, do you wanna go?"

"Don't you have to work on videos?" I ask, remembering his job.

"I prerecorded a bunch of videos that should last a few more days. I did them before I got you" He grabbed his key and stood by the door. "Coming?"

"Oh sure." I got up off the couch. Jack smiled and opened the door.

~le time skip to park~

Once we got there, I immediately saw a bunch of trees just waiting to be climbed. I haven't climbed on in forever, so I was pretty excited.

"Can I climb the tree?" I ask taking a step onto the grass.

"Heck yeah! I used to love to climb them! Knock yourself out, I'll be over here." He motioned to a bench by the pond. I nodded and smiled, then dashed over to the tree. I grabbed a branch with one hand and gripped the trunk with the other. I pull myself up with the help of my feet and make it on the first branch. The other branches were easy to get to from there, so I jumped up to the third. I looked out passed the leaves at the pond. It was like one of those professional photos that you would find online, or a beating painting of a scenery. I can't even put it in words. I climbed a little higher then sat down on the fifth branch. I noticed a little ladybug that was also resting on the tree branch, but it quickly flew away.

Then, I got the weirdest idea. I cup my hands over my mouth.

"ONLY YOU CAN PREVENT FORREST FIRES!" I yelled as loud as I could. Some people gave me weird looks and one was even laughing. I climb down a few branches then jump off the tree. The person that was laughing was this girl, looked to be in hertwenties, and was standing right next to Sean. She had big eyes and soft brown hair that she tied up in two buns towards the back of her head.

"Dawn, this is Signe, my girlfriend! Signe, this is Dawn."

"Hi! I've heard so much about you." She gives me a warm smile. I just wave at her. I was never good with meeting new people.

"So, you like climbing trees?" she tries to make some conversation with me.

"Yeah, it's fun." I say wrapping my hands together shyly. They suddenly turn ice cold, and it slowly spreads throughout my body.

"Me too! I loved to climb them when I was little." She shows off her bright white teeth, and it catches the sunlight. I bite  my lip and grab Sean's hand tightly, looking for warmth.

"Well, I have to go. Sorry I couldn't talk long, we can chat some other day." she says awkwardly going to her car.

"Bye! Love you!" He says to her. I wave again and say goodbye quietly.

As we walk back, he asks me, "So, what do you think of her?"

"She seems nice, I'm just really bad with meeting people and first impressions."

"Aw it's ok! She likes you, which is a good thing." He nods.

We get back to the apartment and he goes into his gaming room to upload a video. I ask if I could shower, and he said yes. After climbing that tree, I kinda needed one. I get in the shower and turn it to a super warm temperature. It feels good to actually take a warm shower. I was so used to cold ones. Suddenly I remember this song...this sounds cliche, but I really wanted to sing in the shower. You only live once, right?

Every time I stop and stumble
in doubt and darkness
I close my eyes and think back to you.
We made a vow, a promise,
To carry onward,
I'll see it through!

The sound of my voice bounced off the walls of the bathroom, which made it sound cool and echo like.

When I was young, the sky shone
clear and bright and blue,
And I smiled through everyday, knowing
all my dreams would come true.

Now that I've grown, that sky
fades dark and disappears
And the future I once dreamed dissolves
before my doubts and fears.

Then you came to me,
Took me by the hand,
And the strength you shared
helped me to rise and stand.
Let the clocks tick by,
Let the days fade away,
'Cause I've found the path my heart will
walk today.

At this point, there was no turning back. I just had to finish the song.

Now my heart's alive, and racing
to~wards the future,
There's no doubt that
could dare hold me back.

I'm gonna fly on forward into that
blue sky, bound~less and bright.

I still pray and hope
That one day we'll be to~ge~ther
I'll fight onward
And see you again, my friend.

I won't stop until the end,
I won't give in.

When I was young, my friends
were always by my side,
If I faltered, they would hold me tight,
push my wor~ries a~side.

The years go by while
friends fade further day by day.
Now there's none left I
can trust, and all alone
I fall and pray.

Then your voice resounds,
Shining like a light
And in har~mo~ny our
song endures the night

Though the mountains fall,
Though the world fades to dust,
Still in you I've found a
strength that I can trust.

I actually feel.. alive..

Can you see me now? Im racing into the-

I stop. The water turned off. I get out and dry myself off. I can hear soft breathing outside my door. I get into some clothes and open the door. Jack. Standing right by the door.
