"Jiiiiiiminiminiminmin!!!!" Taehyung called, running toward him at a breakneck speed. Jimin hardly had time to duck out of the way before Taehyung took them both down, leaving him with far too much velocity to stop, and tumbling over a cozy chair in the Gryffindor common room.
"Owiee," Taehyung moaned.
"I can't believe you lot are the older ones..." Jungkook, the maknae of their friend group, sighed and rolled his eyes as he calmly descended the staircase into the main Gryffindor commons. "Taehyung...just how many times did your mum drop you on your head as a child?"
"Heyyy that's so disrespectful of your hyung!!!" Taehyung got up and ruffled he boy's hair affectionately. As Korean Brits raised in the UK, they didn't follow Korean respect rules as much as their parents would have liked, but at times they still pretended to care.
Taehyung and Jimin had been inseparable since their first year, and as soon as Jungkook was sorted into Gryffindor and his 'give-no-fucks' attitude and equal penchant for mischief as the others were discovered, the trio became a staple of the mighty red and gold House.
The three casually made their way down to the Great Hall for breakfast anticipating a comforting, warm winter feast the (now paid) house elves always prepared so astutely. Unlike most of the students, however, the boys didn't normally eat in the Great Hall at their House Tables. Scorned by most of their Housemates for their 'treachery', the trio regularly grabbed what they wished from the enormous magically restocking tables and scuttled off to their favorite spot to hang out with the amazing friends they'd made outside their House.
The boys wandered through the halls until they reached the Room of Requirement. Taehyung thought aloud:
"I require...a grand feasting room, decorated for a lavish dinner party, with only the most ornate and expensive dining equipment. And the walls must be lined with only masterpieces from the greatest painters in history. And one of those giant, fancy fireplaces-"
Jungkook groaned and pushed him through the door before he could get even more specific.
"All I require is breakfast."
As the boys wandered in, they found the space to be exactly as Taehyung had described. It was candlelit with exquisite ambiance, teeming with class none of the boys possessed.
"Mwah! C'est manifique!" Taehyung enthused, spinning with arms outstretched as his took in his work. "You may praise me," He asserted, bowing as if he had just performed a marvelous stage show at one of West End's most elite theatres.
"Sit your ass down and wait for the others like a normal human," Jimin retorted. Taehyung feigned offence and sat down in his giant cushy armchair at the head of the table.
"Why do I even invite you heathens to my parties..." He grumbled, nose high in the air. Suddenly, the door creaked open to reveal two rosy Hufflepuffs with armfuls of cider, cakes, and- were those full bottles of wine?
"GOooooood Morning my wizard chums," Hoseok chirped cheerfully as he burst into the room, oozing energy as usual. His sheer will could power a city. His smile rivaled solar power. A giant, sparkly ball of hope and joy and a bunch of other obnoxious cutesy shit.
"Ah, just look at his fantastic mirror," Seokjin purred, turning to view himself as soon as he'd dropped the food on the grand table. "Did you put it here just for me, Taehyung?" He posed and turned several more times, laughing merrily at his handsome reflection.
"How did you know I did it today??" Taehyung called, mystified.
"Because you always go over the top," Namjoon cut in, slipping through the door. "Sorry mates, I lost track of time studying." The boy shoved a Potions and Herbology: Two Vials of the Same Leaf textbook back into his bag and he stumbled over something on the floor, almost breaking an ancient Chinese vase.
