Yoongi and Jimin walked in a slightly awkward silence back down to the Great Hall to meet the others for cleanup. The distance between them was strange; though they'd only just met, they'd already done a lot, so they traipsed on in close enough proximity that their hands or arms occasionally brushed, but they hadn't had much time to really get to know each other, and as such every time this occurred, they were sent reeling back to comfortable distance with blushing cheeks.
"I only asked because of what you said to the Headmistress, so I was wondering. Really awkward conversation starter I know...I'm just a little shy and used to the people I normally talk to so sometimes I blurt things without thinking them through or start talking and waffling on but don't know how or when to stop-" Jimin was trying very, very hard to convince the elder Slytherin to join their group of friends. It was not going to plan.
"Oh no, no it's really fine," Yoongi cut in. "I don't usually talk to people either so I'm not really used to all this yet." He laughs awkwardly but hurries on. "But yeah...I'm the token gay Slytherin, I guess."
"Oh um..that's nice." Jimin replies oh-so-smoothly.
"Not..really..." Yoongi retorts.
"Oh! Oh no of course not, I'm so sorry!" Jimin colors strongly once again and covers his mouth with one hand as if to block any more embarrassing words from spilling out. "I'm just, erm, it's the social awkwardness thing again and um. I'm gay too!" He blurts, shocking Yoongi senseless yet again.
"O-oh, um...cool," He responds, mentally face-palming.
Jimin's eyes are huge half-moons in distress and it appears he might actually be sweating.
"How are you feeling anyway? Do your bones still hurt?" He tries, changing the topic to prevent further humiliation.
"I'm fine," Yoongi responds shyly. "Really...it's nothing. They're just a little sore but everything should be good now." Jimin nods solemnly as he realizes they've reached the entrance to the Great Hall.
"Here already, huh?" Namjoon coos. "All twelve ribs again?"
"Most likely." Yoongi's eyes find something in the rafters suddenly and he tilts his head curiously. "Is that the sixth year from earlier? No one got him down?"
Namjoon's head flicks around to see what Yoongi's pointing at, and it is most definitely said boy. "Oh shit! Everyone must've forgotten. I guess I should right 'im then. Wingardium-"
"Stupefy." Yoongi calls calmly as his wand blasts a sky blue light at the target, blasting him off the rafters and sending him spiraling back down to the floor. He lands with a disconcerting thud, still unconscious, and a collective cringe is felt from all six boys tidying at the seventh's nonchalance. Yoongi shrugs carelessly and starts using his wand to move table settings off the floor and enchant a broom to manage the remaining mess.
Jimin gets to work mending the wooden tabletop and bench at Slytherin table where Yoongi had set it aflame and wanders off in his thoughts, a little at a loss for words by this new hyung. Before long Seokjin's tidying efforts land him in a similar zone to Yoongi's and the boys pick up conversation to pass the time.
"So, are you sure you're alright? You can take a rest if you need to." Jin assures the younger boy.
"Oh, I've gotten worse injuries screwing closeted Slytherins." Yoongi jokes. "Well, they have anyway. Their fault for getting kinky."
Seokjin takes a moment to reign in his appall.
"I'm sorry what was that?"
"Don't tell Jimin I said that." Yoongi responds to sudden change of atmosphere. "I wasn't thinking. He doesn't need to hear that." Seokjin's eyes narrow suspiciously.
