(GIA'S POV)
"Girlfriend?" The boy repeats, shocked.
"Girlfriend?" I repeat, equally as shocked.
"Wait-- why are you surprised?" The boy asks me as he backs up away from me, and I see Zach giving me a distinct look.
"It was a secret." I play along, understanding what Zach was trying to do.
"I-i have to go." The boy stutters out and skates away quickly.
"Do you know what you just did?" I ask Zach, genuinely very concerned since this whole thing has the potential to start a lot.
"Are you mad that I was trying to help you out there?" Zach asks me, disbelief and sadness filling his voice and face.
"No, but they were trying to sell your number-- and Jonah's. Which leads to you lying to him, so they're obviously going to take photos and say what you said. You're going to have a lot of unneeded drama, that's what I'm referring to." I explain to him, but now, he seems-- mad?
"They're fans, well, the girls are. They asked me for photos and gave me gifts. I only lied because if I said I was your friend, that probably wouldn't make him leave, plus you seemed really uncomfortable. You don't have to lie about them trying to sell my number." Zach accuses me, his voice sounding mad yet disappointed.
"They admit it, Zach! I'm not lying to you, and thank you for trying to help but--"
"But what?" Zach cuts me off, his face full of too many emotions but his eyebrows were raised and his eyes seemed upset, his lips formed a small frown.
"But I just don't want you to do things that cause rumors and drama." I finish with exasperation, realizing that Zach and I were in an unfortunate argument.
"They aren't trying to sell my number." Zach mumbles, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Okay, don't believe me." I let go, knowing that I wasn't going to lie to make this argument fade, nor was I going to try and change his mind anymore.
"My fans are amazing people, why are you accusing them of such?" Zach asks me, his eyes looking dead into mine with a gleam.
"They are, Zach. I know your fans are amazing, but they aren't real fans if they're trying to do that to you." I briefly explain, unable to grasp the point of why Zach isn't believing me.
"So now you're accusing them of being fake?" Zach scoffs.
"You know what, thank you for the help today. I don't want to argue anymore with you, Zach. If you don't believe me, then that's okay." I give up, not wanting this argument to get any worse.
Before Zach says anything, Jonah skates up to us with a concerned face.
"Hey, what happened?" Jonah asks worriedly, knowing that Zach and I were arguing.
"Zach can explain it to you, thanks for the help today, Jonah. I have to go now." I tell Jonah, not wanting to risk another minute here.
"Wait, what?" Jonah asks and I grab onto the wall with one hand, turning around to leave.
"Zach will explain, or just text me." I tell Jonah and begin to skate towards the exit of the rink.
Reaching a bench, I sit down and untie my left skate lace.
"See, he believes us and not you. I think we're getting far."
