2: Starting Fresh

Beep Beep Be–
I turn around and grab my phone off my night stand and turn off the alarm. I get up and start getting dressed. I toss the clothes I wore to sleep aside and change into some fresh clothes. I put on a plain black shirt and toss on a grey hoodie with the "NASA" logo along with some jeans.

I make my way downstairs to be greeted by pancakes on the table. "Keith, honey. I made your favorite today since it's a big day." "Yeah, thanks Mom," I reply. "So, Keith since you're starting today at a new school, will you try to make some friends?" "I don't know dad I haven't even been there so I have no idea what's going to happen."

I finish up my pancakes and I grab my backpack. I make sure to have my sketchbook in there. You may not know this but I like to make art. Sketching mostly. I make my way outside and start walking to school. "Voltron High, huh?"

I make it inside without drawing too much attention. I go over to the office to pick up my schedule. "Good morning, Kogane," I hear principle Alfor say. "Good morning Mr. Alfor," I say politely. "Nervous for your first day?" "Eheh yeah, is it that obvious?," I reply sheepishly. "Don't worry son you'll do just fine."

I get handed my schedule and I head out into the hall. All right I have Algebra, Chemistry, P.E., English, Art, then its lunch, and afterwards it's History, and Health. Great at least I got the elective I wanted.

I walk over to my locker to put my stuff away and grab my necessities. After I grab my stuff the bell rings. Algebra in room 24, as I'm looking at down at my paper and trying to find the right classroom this guy bumps into me. He has a scar on his nose and the front part of his hair was white.

"Hey, you new here?" "Uh, yeah..." "What class you lookin' for?," he asks. "I'm looking for room 24 Algebra with Mr. Coran," I say. "OH, what a coincidence I have him too. Just follow me." "O-okay"

As I walk in I go and talk to the teacher. "Everyone take your seats, we have a new student today and his name is Keith. I hope you will treat him kindly and with respect." He tells me to sit in an empty seat beside this Big Guy and another kid.

"Psst, hey buddy, it's nice to meet ya, the names Lance," he says while making a weird face. "Uh, I'm Keith." "So, Keith what brings you here to our 'lovely' school." "My dad got a new job", I lied. "Oh, cool, well if you ever need anything I'm here. I do hope we can be friends," says Lance. "Oh and that to your left is my best buddy his name is Tsuyoshi Garret, but we call him hunk." "Nice to meet you, Hunk," I say. "Nice to meet ya too, Keith."

Wow I made some friends today what a surprise. Someone actually talked to me and wanted to be friends.

Classes continued and soon it was lunch. Lance and Hunk approached me and asked me if I wanted to sit with them and I happily accepted.

"YO, PIDGE WE'RE OVER HERE," Lance yelled across the cafeteria to a girl with long light brown hair in a green jacket. She came over to the table. "Lance you didn't have to yell across the entire school." "Alright, alright I'm sorry I won't do it again." "You said that yesterday, and the day before." "Okay whatever"

"So who's the new kid?," says Pidge. "Hi, my name is Keith," I say shyly. "Well hello Keith my name is Katie, Katie Holt, but you can call me Pidge," she says. "So how you feeling about this school so far?," she asks. "I like it, it's pretty cool and I already made friends," I say. "Good I'm glad you're enjoying it."

I look up and see that guy that I bumped into earlier. He's talking to some of his friends. He looks me straight in the eyes and I look away and pretend nothing happened.

The rest of the day was uneventful. Just some more classes and soon the day was over.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow," I say to Hunk, Pidge, and Lance. "Alright bye," replies Lance.

As I'm walking home I notice that someone is following me. I look behind me and I see the guy from earlier. As I keep walking it turns out he lives two blocks away from me.

I get home and I tell my parents about my amazing day. I hope everything goes well tomorrow.

A/N: Well I just finished my first REAL chapter and I hope you all enjoyed. The story will progress it will probably take a while though. I will try to upload around 3 times a week Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, oh well we'll see. Thanks for reading.
