I squinted my eyes at the bright sun.

It was already morning. After burying myself with work yesterday, I had fallen asleep on my desk. It wasn't rare. There were countless occasions where I was too tired to move to my bed located in my back of my office. Why waste time walking, when I could just sleep on my table?

I sighed, it was Friday morning already. Time seems to be slipping by too quickly. That damned sorry excuse of a lord is gaining ground.

"I have a message for Mr Ambrose!"

"Mr Ambrose does not wish to be interrupted at this time."

"It's important!"

"I can relay the message."

"No, it's not for your ears."

"Send him in Mr Stone." I called out curtly.

"Umm-"

"Now."

"Yes, Sir."

The door opened with a squeaky tone, and in rushed a man in his early 20s.

"We've got a problem, sir!" He wailed. "The...the...Lintons!"

"I do recall you being assigned to watch the Linton family."I put on a neutral face, "But what of it?"

"Lord dalgledis-"

I raised an eyebrow.

"Sir...I mean, the owner of the East Indian company....I saw him with the Linto-"

"What of it."

"Umm. He took Miss Linton."

"He did what?"

"He took Miss Linton."

"No, you idiot. I heard you fine the first time. I mean which Miss Linton."

"Eh, the middle one?" the messenger stammered. "The girl with brown eyes."

"The girl with brown eyes?" My heart raced and my breathing tensed, although it's probably because of the humid weather. I snapped myself mentally. I would never let my emotions take control.

"The girl that stormed into this building sometime earlier this year."

"WHAT? Why are you still here?" I snapped into attention. "Where's the others?"

"Following Dal- the owner of the--"

"Yes, good. Tell Karim ready the men, we're heading out."

"But, what about the promised pay?" The man named John stepped forward, inching out his open hands.

A freezing look sent the man shooting out the doors faster than my money making factories.

"This is a quite inadequate situation..." I murmured to myself as the doors to my office slammed shut.
