Little Kion had grown over the week he was now a lively cub. Kion laughed as he ran around the lion's den. Simba sighed and placed his paw on Kion's tail forcing him to stop running.
"dad, what was that for" Kion whined, his father chuckled as he picked him up by the scruff of his neck and placed him in Nala's paws
It's time for bed you've got a big day tomorrow" Nala said softly. Kion looked up at his mother and started to whine. Kiara growled irrotated by her brother
"Kion just go to bed! Dad's giving you a lesson tomorrow so for Mohatu's sake go to bed" she shouted. Kion's eyes shone as he stopped fidgeting and slowly closed his eyes, falling asleep.
A couple of hours had passed since Kion had fallen asleep and he was already being nudged awake. Kion groaned and rolled over onto his side. Simba chuckled and whispered into his ear
"you know I forced my dad to wake up when he gave me my first lesson because we see the sun rise over the land it's beautiful, I wouldn't miss it for the world" as soon as Kion heard this he sprung to his feet and jumped over various lions and lionesses to reach the to reach the entrance to the den, Simba chuckled and followed his son.
Soon they were at the top of pride rock as the sun rose pouring light onto the land. Simba looked at Kion and said
"look Kion everything the light touches is part of our kingdom, the pridelands. A king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day the sun will set on my time here and will rise with Kiara's. As her brother you'll be there for her, respecting her as your queen." Kion was amazed by this but he had one burning question
"what about that shadowy place" he asked curiously.
"that's beyond our borders Kion you must never go there" Simba said seriously. Kion simply nodded and listened to his father.
They travelled to the plains were all the creatures where beginning their day.
"Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. We must respect every creature from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope" Simba said as they walked. Kion stopped in his steps and said
"but dad we eat the antelope!" Simba stopped and looked at Kion.
"Kion when we die our bodies become the grass and the antelope eat the grass so we are all connected in the great circle of life" Simba explained.
"Woah" Kion gasped amazed by what he had learnt. Simba kneeled down and smiled at Kion
"why don't you have some fun. Go and make some friends. But stay out of trouble!" Simba said. Kion gasped with excitement and lept around in joy
"really, thanks dad I'll stay out of trouble" Kion said while he lept away
"and be back by sunset" Simba called after him. He sighed Kion was so young and hopefully he didn't meet any outlanders.
