The guys were looking far and wide for Alex, so far finding nothing. They were all disheartened, fearing they may never find the girl they had grown to love. However, this mood did NOT last long. A blood trail was appearing, leading back to a place they should have known to look: The park.
The males followed the small drips and drops of blood, all the way to the swing-set they had seen Alex go to the first day they arrived here. To their dismay, the playground in its entirety had been destroyed. The swings were in shambles, the slides were shredded, the play palace was pulverized, the seesaw was smashed, the twirly-whirl was trashed, and the tether-ball was torn to pieces. They looked from the scene, to each other, and back again. Taking it all in, they concluded Alex had indeed been there, but only to destroy it. The place where she was always herself, she had decimated. It was as if she was trying to erase every little thing about her life before she had been turned. Everything that had made her human, she was getting rid of.
"This is.....most unsettling." Ruki frowned.
"I'll say, Mneko-Chan seems to be going on a rampage! She destroyed her favorite place, who knows what else she'll wreck!" Kou sighed in sadness.
"Let's use this to our advantage." Reiji said simply.
"Tch, how the hell can we use this? It's a bunch of rubble!" Subaru growled, feeling more annoyed than sad at the moment.
"Well if she is destroying things she loves, let's find them all. She will have to be at one eventually." Reiji replied to his younger brother. The white haired male simply tched in reply and remained silent.
"Reiji, where do you think that will-" Kanato had started to ask Reiji, only to be cut off by Ayato.
"The lake.....I saw a scrapbook of her as she grew up in her house. One place is the lake." He murmured with a downcast expression. The others looked at him in confusion, to which he responded by sprinting off through the debris of the playground. Along the way, they passed a news crew getting statements from witnesses.
"It was inhuman, she was a beast!" One old man shivered as he described the culprit in the vandalism.
"She had these monstrously strong hands and was just ripping everything apart! It was horrifying!" One woman gasped as she fanned herself.
I didn't see her full face, but I saw her eyes. Red eyes they were. Eyes of pure evil. I swear she had the devil in her!" One man stated with certainty. This almost made them laugh. How ignorant people were, all having something to say about something they couldn't even begin to understand. An epidemic that could never be cured and took its toll on the soul. A possession that could never be exercised. They were demons alright, just the kinds that lived beyond where the eye could see.
They arrived at the lake to find it in similar condition to the park. In pieces was the picture Ayato had seen in the scrapbook. The dock was destroyed, the trees lay in pieces scattered across the earth and in the lake, the cabin was nothing more than a few pieces of rubble, and the small boat had but a small piece sticking up out of the water where it had been sunk. The scene almost made him tear up. She really WAS destroying what had made her human. It saddened him to think the girl he had known was going to be gone forever, the mother of his CHILD, just.....GONE. The thought alone made him clench his fists and turn to the others.
"Any other ideas?" He asks as calmly as possible. Kanato raises his hand.
"What about her ice cream stand? She loved that place, did she not?" The small lilac haired male proposes softly. He, too, was torn, but he dared not show it.
"It's better than nothing, let's go!" His red headed brother cheers, tipping his fedora to the sky in an attempt to keep his exterior of strength.
They were filled with newfound hope and determination as they saw the head of the girl they were searching for. Their smiles soon turned to expressions of shock as they saw what was happening. Yes, Alex was there, but she was feasting upon the salesman. She had bitten into his neck and drained him of every drop he had in him, killing him and leaving nothing but a shell. She stood up, flipped the cart, and her eyes landed on the group. They just stared. That is, until Yuma ran and tackled her.
"LET ME GO! I'LL KILL YOU!" She growled in an animalistic tone. Her voice was no longer hers, it was the voice of someone else entirely. The voice....of a monster.
"A-Alex, please!" Kino begs as he tries to calm the girl. As her eyes met his, her anger only seemed to increase.
"YOU! I-I-I'LL-" Before she could finish, her body falls limp in Yuma's arms.
"What happened?!" Laito shrieked in panic as he searched her unconscious form. His face went pale as he pulled out a tranc dart from her side.
"KH?"He wonders aloud at the letters carved into the dart.
"Karl....Heinz...." Azusa hums as he examines it.
"DAD?!" The Sakamaki siblings gasp as they look at the girl.
"Hello boys, it seems we have more than a little to discuss. First, why not join me for some tea?" The aforementioned man smiles as he lifts the girl onto his shoulders. He starts walking, leaving little room for discussion or argument. Perhaps now they will finally get some answers. Or maybe....just some more problems.
