Alaina and I are mermaids, at least we were when we woke up this morning. We were swimming aimlessly around the coral reef when we found a beautiful shell. We had no idea that it was magical at the time!
A little while later something caught my eye at the bottom of a trench. It was another shell and it looked exactly like the one we had found earlier! I took Alaina back to our treasure cave and we found some string in our collection. The shells were so small that we decided to turn them into necklaces.
They looked a little magical so we decided to pretend that they were. We wished to be human, and what do you know, we became humans right on the spot! We were incredulous, but we didn't have time to stand there (literally) and gawk, we were running out of air!
When we got to the surface we sputtered and coughed up water. We swam over to the beach and started looking for something to wear. We had never realized how desolate a place could be. There was no one around for miles on end, or so we thought...
