Nervously everyone sat awaiting the final decision.

In the last two days the defence and offence had been battling it out. Pushing their evidence or in some cases lack of under the judge's face.

It was self inflicted
It wasn't him
The timeframe doesn't add up
Yet the victim was drunk
Items were stolen
There's no footage
No proof
Track records

Clarissa's head swam as they sat adjourned until the stuffy faced jury deliberates her boyfriends future. His face during the court session scared her as the defence attorney seemed to be failing miserably.

All of a sudden a call back was announced and the crowd was brought back into the courtroom. Clarissa's hands were visibly sweating and Gabby had her hand on the curve in her back to steady her.

It was been three full weeks since the arrest by the tracks. Three weeks wasn't a lot to prepare and the defence had a difficult time as all the other attorney had to drag up was his past records and the nature of his behaviour.

The reason they were brought back early was some new evidence had recently been received. The host, clearly having a high profile family to be able to have a mansion house are regularly followed by newspapers especially since the 'murder' on their property. One photograph contained new and interesting items. The item of interest was a watch. The hosts grandfather was pictured in Dubai. With a watch. The 'stolen' watch!

Burglary was ruled out.

The second piece of evidence, nearly acquired was CCTV footage from the house. It took weeks for the police force to be able to retrieve it and the first screening was to be shown in court. With twenty angels the right is replayed.

Clarissa getting drunk. Random people attending. Dancing. Drinking. Practically everything illegal. Clarissa and Gabby outside. Joined by Matt.
Clarissa and Gabby leaving the jacuzzi.
Brett
Brett is pictured in the far corner. Our encounter is recorded.
Brett leaves!

Attention is drawn back to Matt. He fell asleep outside.
The police shit the party down at half 2.
No police check!

A splash was seen. Matty had fallen in the pool. His body was then saw floating on the surface clearly instantly deceased due to impact and alcohol. The time stamp... 4am.

The polices investigation corrupted the whole process and nearly convicted an innocent boy.

Brett was free, no verdict was to be decided.
Brett ran to Clarissa. Not bothered about the witnesses he scooped her up and swung her around. Kissing her till they both ran out of air. Placing her down he smiled at Gabby then requested alone time.

" Thank you. Clarissa you saved me. On more than one occasion. I love you-" Clarissa stopped him as he again became emotional and Clarissa took control and declared her undying love.

" Let's travel the world!" Clarissa's eyes lit up. She didn't pause before saying yes. She wished to travel and she could. With the love of her life.

"Better yet."

Brett shuffled back. To everyone's surprise he grabbed Lissa's hand then got down on one knee. A gasp ricocheted around the room.
" We're young. Too young. I know but life is short. I want to make you the happiest girl alive so I'm taking you travelling. So-"
He paused looking at the audience behind Clarissa.

" Clarissa Morgan. Would you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" No pause was necessary as Lissa jumped into awaiting arms. " Yes! Yes! Yes!"

Both of their faces were alight with smiles. Their eyes sparkled with newly found freedom and with love.

" To the beginning of our journey!" Clarissa shouted before passionately kissing Brett to a congratulating audience roaring with the sound of an applause. " Where to first my love?" Brett grinned as he literally swept Clarissa off her feet and carried her out the of courtroom.

Starting the rest of their lives together.
