Hit The Ice (a Yuri on Ice fanfic)

Qualifiers

       A/N: so I'm going to assume that the Free crossover really killed this. So I sent Haru home. It's just Yuri Viktor and Felicity. Please comment with constructive criticism to have a chance at being a new character!!!
       I walked with my brother and Yuri out from the lockers of the rink to the ice. I watched nervously as Yuri stretched, and bit my lip as I looked around at the competition. I spotted a boy with a streak of red hair rush over to Yuri and obsess over him. Yuri basically crushed the kid's heart. I watched as tears welled up in the boy's eyes. Viktor pulled Yuri aside and scolded him for being so rude.
       I walked over to the boy. "Hey Im Felicity! I saw you were kinda upset, want a piece of chocolate?" I offered him a Hershey's that I got from a family trip to Florida. The boy brushed away a tear, taking the chocolate. "Thanks. My names Minami. Sorry I seem upset... it's just that my idol was kinda rude to me." I almost giggled. "Who? Yuri?" I said casually, he nodded. "Oh don't worry about him! He's a grouch sometimes. Don't let him get you down." Minami smiled. "You know him?" He asked. "Yeah my brother's his coach! My last name's Nikiforov." Minami seemed very excited. "Wow! That's cool! Hey I'm almost up... would you mind watching me?" I nodded. "Of course!"
       I watched as Minami walked towards the rink. He slowed as he walked by Yuri. Yuri slapped him on the back. Minami froze for a moment and then proceeded to the ice. He skated out. "Go Minami!!!!!!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "Go! Break a leg Minami!!" (Im not sure if that's what he said) I looked over to see Yuri yelling. I smiled.
     I watched as Minami danced around the ice, the grin on his face never disappearing. I clapped and cheered as he finished. He came darting off the ice. "How'd I do?" He asked nervously. "Want me to be honest?" I asked in all seriousness. He nodded. "You totally dominated out there!" He smiled even bigger. "Come with me to get my score!" He said, grabbing my hand. "Sure thing Minami!" I laughed. We sat on the bench in anticipation, waiting for the announcement. Finally they came in. 62.83 and 152.1. I laughed as Minami screamed and jumped up and down, hugging me several times.

      I sat with Yuri and Viktor waiting for Yuri's scores. So far Minami was in first. Yuri needed to be in 1st to move on... I wanted Yuri to move on... but I couldn't bear watching Minami's dreams be destroyed. And the scores came in. 94.36 and... 165.2. I cheered as Yuri stared in disbelief. After we got back we ran into Minami. "That was..." my heart ached as I waited to see his tears. "AMAZING! I promise I'll try harder next year! I'll make it Yuri!" Yuri laughed and patted him in the back. "Good job Minami." As I walked past him, I closed Minami in a tight hug. "I'll keep in touch 'kay?" He nodded as I handed him a slip of paper. And then we went to celebrate. Team Yuri was off to a good start!
