I opened my eyes slowly, yawning. I turned over slightly and realized there was someone next to me. My eyes shot open and I saw Yurio sitting next to me on the couch, asleep. Then I remembered. I smiled happily and moved away from the sleeping Yurio, only to lay him down on the couch with his head in my lap. I laughed quietly and played with his hair.
Yurio began to wake up, yawning and stretching. I laughed as I watched him open his eyes. He looked shocked at first to see me, and then a small smile spread over his face. Before I knew it, Yurio pulled my head down and gave me a brief kiss. "Morning Felicity." He smiled as he laid his head back in my lap. "M-morning..." I said, still flustered from the kiss. "You know you're quite cute when you blush." Yurio said. I whacked him on the shoulder. "Shut up." I laughed.
I stuck around to help Yurio make breakfast and then helped him pack to go to his Canadian competition. "I wish I could come to your competition..." I pouted. "I do too." Yurio said simply. He glanced up, and seeing my pout face walked over from his suitcase and gave me a hug. "I'll call you as soon as I get off the ice." He said. "Promise?" I asked teasingly. "Promise." Yurio laughed.
"I have to go pack too..." I said. "Wanna help me?" Yurio laughed at this, shaking his head. "Fine I'll help. Just let me finish my packing." "Kay!" I jumped up and ran to my room, starting to fold up all my clothes. Yurio joined me shortly after, helping me put all the clothes into the suitcase.
Once we were done, we walked down the stairs to the lobby, where Viktor and Yuri were waiting for us. Yurio gave me a hug and handed me his jacket. "Here, just in case you get cold." He said. I took the jacket and thanked him, gave him a quick kiss and ran to catch up with my brother and Yuri. On the plane I slipped the slightly large jacket on, loving the warmth it provided and wishing I could be at both Yuri and Yurio's tournaments.
(Time skip)
I walked with Yuri and Viktor towards the rink. As we walked, we passed Yakov, Viktor's old coach. Viktor smiled and politely said hello, only for Yakov to brush him off coldly. I glared at the man as he stormed away. Viktor was still smiling, but it wasn't as wide a smile as before. We emerged to the edge of the rink, and I glanced around, watching all of the skaters stretch and talk to their coaches. I turned around and realized Yuri had fallen behind. I walked back towards him as the Canadian skater Chris finished talking to him. As he walked away, I heard him say "You should let Viktor get back to skating." As I got closer, Yuri turned to me and asked. "Would Viktor rather skate than coach me?" He voice was panicked, and he looked almost scared to hear my answer. "Yuri of course he enjoys skating, but watching you skate is something he enjoys just as much, if not more!" Yuri looked relieved. I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the rink. "Come on let's go get you settled in."
Viktor has finally admitted the other day that I was his co-coach. I got to help Yuri warm up and stretch, and I also got to help him with his expressive portion of his routines. As I helped Yuri stretch, I chatted casually with him, trying to settle his nerves. "So Yuri, how's Minako?" "She's great. She really appreciated you visiting with her by the way." "Anytime! And tell her that she's welcome to come visit Russia whenever she wants!" Yuri nodded as he relaxed. I smiled knowing I had just relieved him of a lot of nerves.
When the announcement for warm up skate came on Yuri glided out onto the ice with the other skaters. He did a couple laps of the rink and stopped to talk with Pitchit for a few moments. "When he's not stressing out about competitions he seems really comfortable on the ice." I said casually to Viktor. "Yeah, Yuri does really well when he puts his mind to it." He answered, still watching Yuri.
When the skaters came off the ice, we sat watching the routines of the other skaters. Finally it was Yuri's turn. I stood and gave him a huge hug. "You're gonna do awesome." I said. Yuri steppes onto the ice and turned around to speak with Viktor. I didn't hear the whole conversation, and I only truly paid attention when Yuri grabbed my brother by the tie, forcefully pulled him closer and said "Don't take your eyes off me." I just sat there in shock at his aggressive behavior.
Yuri preformed his Eros routine flawlessly. Landed every jump, nailed every visual feature, his performance was perfect. When he came off the ice, we sat anxiously waiting for his placement. And the announcements came in... Yuri took first place! I jumped up and down and squealed until I was out of breath, we were all so happy. Except Yuri. Despite being his best run, Yuri didn't seemed satisfied with his performance.
