Once we finally arrived to the festival lot, we quickly ran into the near empty festival. Hoping it wasn't completely to drive here than our dorm.

"I see Marshall." I pointed in some relief to the brown haired boy fiddling with his mic.

I could tell Ava wanted to run over just so we for sure would not miss the opportunity to talk to them, but we still had some dignity left from today. I was at this point ready to go home, I was exhausted.

"Hey! It's Jeslyn and Ava!" Marshall called towards his band putting their equipment away.

Aaron looked up from his drums towards my direction and smiled, that's when memories of my childish self having such a ridiculous crush on Aaron Scott came flooding in.

"Hey, I know we came late." Ava started. "Our car ran out of gas. It was crazy."

"Are you guys okay?" Aaron asked as he walked in my direction, nearly towering over me when he stood at my side.

"Yeah, except the part where I almost got hit by a truck." I said half joking.

"Oh man, did someone help you?" Marshall asked.

"Eventually, yeah." I replied.

"That's good, very nice of them." Aaron answered.

"Yeah, it was." I answered in deep thought about August. "Anyway! How did you guys do?"

"We did so awesome." Marshall cut in wrapping his arm around his brother.

"I bet." Ava gazed at Marshall.

Aaron placed his hand on my waist and gently pulled me a few feet away from Ava and Marshall.

"I can't believe it's been a year since graduation." Aaron said.

"Me neither." I agreed.

"I still remember you in your cheerleading outfit." He said in a laugh.

I turned a looked at him surprised. "I can't believe you even noticed me."

"Noticed you? I had such a crush on you." He explained. "Well, not 'had' because I still think you're beautiful."

My cheeks soon burned at his words, so I tried my best to change the subject before I choked and embarrassed myself in front of Aaron.

"I wish I got here earlier to see you play." I mentioned with a blush. "But at least I got to say hi."

"I'm glad you did come, because I would love to call you sometime soon." Aaron smiled.

"Oh." I gaped at his forwardness.

"If that fine with you of course." He chuckled.

"Yeah sure, totally." I assured. "Let me see your phone."

"Here." He said, pulling out his phone.

I typed in my number and name before handing his phone back to him. Aaron smiled at his phone then tucked it in his back pocket.

"Great." Aaron smiled. "I'll call you soon Jeslyn."

"Can't wait!" I answered with a smile as he jogged off.

Ava jogged towards me with a smile emphasizing that it was time to go.

"What happened?" I laughed.

"He asked for my number!" Ava squealed.

"That's so cute!" I answered as I jumped into the jeep. "Aaron asked for my number too."

"Really!" Ava questioned in excitement as we started driving away. "But you don't seem all that excited."

"I am. But it's not highschool anymore." I answered truthfully.

"Awe, so you're gonna crush his heart?" Ava questions.

"No, I don't know. I mean-"

"I'm messing with you, Jes." Ava cuts in.

"I still think he's ridiculously hot, if that counts." I added.

"Well, I did see the way you were looking at the guy we hitched hike with when I was inside the gas station." Ava mentioned.

"Oh jeez Ava, he was a stranger." I responded shaking my head.

"No, I believe his name was August. Plus, I don't blame you, he was extremely attractive."

"He really is." I agreed in laughter. "Did you see his eyes?"

"Yeah! Never seen baby blues like those." Ava agreed as she pulled into the parking lot. "We're home!"

"Finally." I praised as I basically ran out of the Jeep towards the dorms halls.
