I grabbed a glass and filled it with water. I quickly walked out to talk to him again. I sat down his glass and asked "Are you ready to order?"
"Umm. I.. no." He stuttered.
"Oh, okay. Call me over if you are.." I said.
I went over to another table, a family. They all had want they wanted in mind luckily. I wrote it down quickly and gave the chefs the order.
I came out of the kitchen and saw Dean leave. I went over and grabbed the glass and saw something written on the napkin.
"Roman +1-202-555-0155"
I smiled and stuffed the napkin in my pocket.
I GOT HIS PHONE NUMBER!
But.. I have a date with Seth. Ugh.
Alright, I can get through tonight, can't I? I'll let him down easily. Yea, easily.
I snapped out of my thoughts when Seth punched my shoulder.
"Hey, you doing ok? You seem, like distant."
"Yeah. I'm fine, just thinking." I smiled.
"Oh, okay. Tables need to be.. waited? I don't know. Get out there and do your job" he said.
I raised an eyebrow. "Mm. Okay."
//// I'm going to timeskip to lunch. ///
I decided it was time for a break. I usually was left off after my breaks because they didn't need me for lunch services, but I didn't have a ride home.
I took off my apron and walked outside to sit on the benches that were on the porch like area.
I took out my phone and decided to text Dean.
I entered his phone number and carefully typed out a message.
"Hey Dean. You left a little something on the table."
Sent.
Time to wait for a response.
I bounced my right left up and down in anticipation.
Finally. Buzz.
I checked my phone and looked.
"Hey Roman. Yeah, it was for you. You seem cool. I'm always open to new friends."
I smiled. "Yeah.. Wanna hang sometime?"
"Free tonight? My parents will be out around 9:00."
Without thinking, I instantly responded with. "Yea totally."
Damn. My date is getting In the way. Maybe I could get out of it in time?
Seth walked out and sat next to me, and I instantly hid my phone.
"Oh! Hey.." I said nervously.
"I took my break early." He said, sitting next to me.
"Is there anyway I could be home by 9?" I asked, looking at him.
"Um yeah. Why?"
I glanced towards the ground, trying to make up a quick lie.
"Have I told you about the crazy guy next door?"
"No."
"Okay, well there's this totally crazy guy next door who screams in drunk rants, and he usually stops around 9 and id like to get home to get a couple hours of sleep before he starts again."
Seths face was filled with confusion but he understood.
"Okay that's fine."
"You getting off work early? You know how they don't need me for lunch shifts and all." I asked.
He looked down and nodded.
"I can get off early if you want me to. I'll go talk to the boss."
