Mrs. Sawamura was worried for her son when she found out he still didn't have friends when he got into high school. He joined the volleyball club, so maybe he would get some friends.
She wasn't wrong. He bonded with Sugawara Koushi and Asahi Azumane. They quickly became friends, but they didn't realize Daichi still had an imaginary friend.
Daichi went to his imaginary friend for everything. When he had crushes he would go to him first. He told him about him being bisexual first. His friend even convinced him to tell his family.
And Kuroo Tetsuro never left him.
Three years later~~
Daichi was walking to school with his imaginary friend, Kuroo, talking to him about his upcoming practice against a school in Tokyo.
"Kuroo, I'm worried. Kageyama and Hinata are our biggest asset, but Kageyama is still too rash." Daichi sighed.
"Dai, don't worry. You guys will do fine. And, I have a good feeling about this weekend. You're gonna meet someone" Kuroo mumbled the last part, so Daichi couldn't really hear it.
"I hope so. Thanks Kuroo! Ah look. There's Suga." Kuroo looked to where Daichi was waving and he left, Daichi knew he would see him at school.
Once the pair got to school, they went their separate ways to classes, since Asahi and Suga were in the other class. Kuroo was waiting for Daichi.
"Ya know. I'm gonna leave you eventually." Kuroo looked at the desk, not wanting to see Daichi's face.
"... I know." Kuroo looked up at this to see Daichi doing the same thing he himself was previously doing. "You are only imaginary. Soon, you will disappear and I'll be lonely."
"Not entirely." It was Daichi's turn to look up. "I'll only leave you when you find the person you will spend the rest of your life with."
Daichi only chuckled, "So you're gonna spend the rest of your life with me."
"No, I know you will see this person soon, sooner than you may think." Kuroo looked at the other male.
"Hey Kuroo?"
"Yea."
"Your hair is still a mess."
"WELL THAT'S BECAUSE YOU NEVER DO ANYTHING WITH YOURS. SO I NEVER LEARNED!" Kuroo raised his voice and huffed while trying to fix his bed head.
"Hey Daichi?"
"Yea?"
"I highly resemble your soulmate." And with that, Kuroo left, leaving a flustered and thinking Daichi behind.
"Who has or has had an imaginary friend?" The sensei asked the class. Every hand shot up. "Good. Believe it or not, every human being has either had or currently has an imaginary friend. Most people lose their imaginary friends at a young age. That isn't 'because you are maturing'. It's because you have met your soulmate. Your imaginary friend tends to look like your soulmate, if not exactly the same." She sighed, "Unfortunately, most people don't believe this, so you may not know, but I believe it and I want to tell you before you graduate." After starting her lesson out with that, she lectured about her subject.
Daichi couldn't really focus on the lesson, he was too focused on what Kuroo had said earlier.
