*some sci-fi, au shit*  / some Tim Burton shit bc I love him
--------------------------

The sky was grey. The trees casting shadows that looked like hands about the enclose you in their grasp til your body eventually gives out from being squished. The grass was unkept, it wasn't even green, it was all dead, years of the grieving people crushing it. This place reeked "depression".
This was everyday for the cemetery.

The sky became darker, and the living, grieving souls, began to leave.
The undead souls began to flood the misty ground.

All of the souls rose from the ground to socialize and what not, they came out during midnight, because no one would be caught dead in a cemetery at midnight, except them of course.
Just like any other night, they thought that if would just be the undead tonight.

As they all pooled towards the back of the cemetery, the mumbling of the zombies became louder, ironically, the atmosphere was lively.

Yovela POV
Everybody left, my grandma, father, sister, brother, friends, everybody, they disappeared as the sun came down. The children were getting scared and the adults had work. But I couldn't leave, I couldn't just leave my own mother, alone on a cold night.
I individually set the roses next to her gravestone. Everyone just left her, just like they did when she was alive, she needed somebody's reassurance that everything would be okay, but no one was there for her.
She wouldn't dare speak to me, as I would worry too much, atleast that's what her therapist told me, her therapist told me that my mom thought therapy was just a waste of money, that the therapy didn't help at all. She had bills to pay, children to tend to, jobs to finish. It was all just too much, but a tiny bottle of strong medication is only $3.29.
Now that she's gone, we barely have enough money to pay off her coffin, but from all the fake sadness I've witnessed today, these people could be actors and pay it off for us.
The uncomfortable feeling of dried tears sat on my cheek, I didn't pay any mind to it, I had bigger problems.
I sat, and hugged her gravestone.

Y/N POV
As I rose from my grave, I yawned and stretched a bit, I am one of the many bodies raged able to stretch with my limbs breaking off. Yep! That's me, most well preserved body in the cemetery, I also think it's because I'm the youngest, and freshest.
My grave is towards the back of the cemetery, perfect for sleeping, no disturbances, people are too scared to come this far back in the cemetery, not that I care, no one would visit me anyway, they're already here.
My whole family is dead, not because of some incident where we all died in a freak accident.
My family and I were born in 1892.
Here in the cemetery, in one of the youngest but, also one of the oldest, my body is 17, but my soul is about 200 years old.
I throw my legs out of the dirt, and I walk towards the area we all socialize, I call it the 'Maul', we all exchange things, talk about our lives as the living, who we miss, it's basically interactions between the undead.
You might be wondering why I died so early, well, because my uncle had me beheaded. Back in the 1800's it was preposterous for a lady to like another lady. We were made to cook, clean, and die. That was all rubish to me.
Of course down at the Maul they have undead doctors that sew your limbs back in place, so when I was new to the cemetery, the put my head back in place.
Down here, it's our own community, untouched by the living, and we love it that way.
I walk towards the giant tree that I planted. I planted it a couple of weeks after I was buried.
It's about 100 years old, it's my most prized possession.
I hadn't stepped foot out of the cemetery ever, so it's all I have.
As I neared the tree, on the other side, I heard weeping, and incoherent noises.
I hid behind the tree, no one weeps here anymore, we can't cry, it was unusual for a living soul to be here, especially after dark.
I ripped my ear off and rolled it towards the girl.

"Mom, why'd you have to go? Why so early? I could've helped I mis- " she was interrupted by this loud noise that hurt my ears.
"I'm not going back! You might've left her, but I'm not gonna leave her, dead OR alive" with that, she harshly hit the tiny tv box with her finger.
She then started weeping again.
I slowly peered from the tree.
Her back was facing me.
I slowly approached her.
I wrapped my hand around her mouth the muffle her screams, no I'm not gonna eat her or anything, I just knew that if she'd seen my rotting flesh, she'd go mad.
Her wretched tv box lit up again but she ignored it.
"Do not scream when you see me, understood?" I said
She nodded her head slowly, her body twisted towards me.
I rolled my eyes as she was about to scream again, but I quickly covered her mouth.
"I told you not to scream" I huffed
"Well you never told me you were dead" she exclaimed
"You're in a cemetery, what else" I shrugged I was quite surprised, she didn't run away, the last time I came across a human, they put him in the mad house.
"Who's that?" I painted towards the grave
Her expression fell.
"It's my mom" she said lowly
"How long has she been here?" I asked
"Two days" she said
"Hmm" I said, she looked at me confused, then I "shooed" her to the side
I kneeled down on her grave, I put my ear to the grown, I listened closely, I heard some shuffling, then I knocked, "hello, miss, you might be a little confused, but just rip out a piece of the coffin and stick your hand up the grass, it's easy" I said
Surprisingly, the insides of coffins are very weak, it's why the bodies rot so fast.
Moments later, a hand rose from the ground.
The girl behind me looked petrified, while I hummed an "ahh" I grabbed the woman's hand, and she created a big enough hole for the rest of her body, inch by inch I pulled her out.
Her body hadn't stared rotting yet, so she looked human.
"Mom!" The girl gasped and hugged her mom, tight. A little too tight.
Her arm fell off. They both looked at it, confused
"Her body is weakened, it's what happens before you start rotting" I said as I pulled off a finger for demonstration
"Come on, I'll show you how to reattach them" I started walking towards the Maul, after I picked up my ear and finger.
