Harry's POV:

The phone slips out of my hand when my eyes scan the screen. My heart jumps into my throat and closes off my airway. Soon, I become dizzy.

"Who's that..." Belle asks.

"I have to take this."

I pick the phone back up into my shaky hands. She never wanted to talk to me again, so why is her name on my phone screen? My thumb presses the accept button and I put the speaker up to my ear.

"Is it a bad time?" She asks quietly.

"An awful time to be honest."

"Well I don't think there will ever be a good time to say this. I was just going to let it go, but my family finally convinced me to tell you."

"Wh-what is it?"

"I'm pregnant."

"But it's not mine. It's not. You know it isn't. I know it isn't. It isn't possible," I am searching for anything to grab onto. This falling sensation takes over me and the world around me is spinning.

Silence answers me and I am reassured of my largest fear. This was supposed to be a new start. A fresh canvas has now been painted black. No color will be able to show on top of it. The darkest of all consumes the blank canvas, creating a new picture.

"I need you to come back in a month or so. We have to discuss whether we are keeping it or n-"

"How long have you known."

"I've known for two months."

"Damn it, Karlita! Why did you wait? You couldn't tell me before I left? What the hell is wrong with you? Are you stupid? Oh wait. Let me answer that quick question for you. You must be, you got yourself all knocked up. There's no way I'm taking care of that child. It isn't mine."

"Harry..." Sobs are obvious through the speaker.

"Isn't there a test I can take? A paternity test, I have to get one. How do you know it's even mine? I bet you screwed around with guys all of the time."

"I didn't. Harry, you're the father. You can't deny the truth. Be a man and face this for God's sake." She snaps back at me like a whip.

"Until I see the results from that test, it's not mine."

"I don't want to get that test done. I'm not helping you pay for it. It's a waste."

"It isn't a damn waste if I want it done. You couldn't care for a child even if you wanted to," I sit down on the sidewalk trying not to dirty my pants.

"You will be back here in a month to settle this. Take some time to think about it. Tell you parents and decide with them first. Call me when you finish talking with them."

"Call you? I'm not dealing with this if it isn't my problem," I hang up and throw my phone to the ground. The glass screen shatters into a million pieces. The shards of glass fall across the pavement. My head rests in the palms of my hands. Tears wet my hands and a gentle hand rubs my back. Soon, this small crying turns into a full on sob. My life is ruined.

"Is there anything I can get you?" I pull her into my chest and hug her. This wasn't how I wanted the night to end. How do I tell Belle? 'Hey I just reappeared into your life and my ex-girlfriend is pregnant, love you.' My life is a damn mess.
