Chapter 4: The Plan

When Richard and his volunteers returned to Frank's

village, he explained to everyone that they were free to return to their

lives for the moment as he would make a new plan with Frank.

Richard had also informed them that they weren't to follow

him to the meeting as it was to be a private meeting. This angered

Martin who believed that the people who would be fighting the battle

should have a say in the plan.

"Can you believe this Marvin? Shouldn't we, the people who are

going to actually be fighting this battle have a say in all of this?"

"Well Martin, we aren't experts at strategy the way that

Richard is, he knows what he is doing. If we were to try

and make a plan it may not be as well thought out."

"Yeah well, you may think that but I can't stand this decision. I

am going to this meeting whether they like it or not."

"I wouldn't do that if I were you; you may get in trouble and

be given laundry duty."

"So, what, it would be worth it to attempt to voice my opinion,

after all isn't that why the original United states was formed, because

the original citizens didn't have any autonomy in their government prior

to its founding."

"Yeah that is why it was created, but the United States also

disintegrated after the nuclear attack."

"Oh well, they just weren't prepared for the worst. I will be

prepared. We'll I'm off to the meeting, see ya later."

"See ya later Martin" and with that Martin headed off to his

brother's hut to take part in the meeting between him and

Richard. Martin reached Frank's hut in only a minute as the village still

wasn't very big, and could be traversed rather quickly. When Martin

arrived at his brother's hut, the meeting had just begun. Martin walked

up to the door confidently and proceeded to knock.

"What do you want Martin, me and Lieutenant Richard are

discussing our plan for the dam."

"I know that's why I am here. I believe that I should be a part

of this discussion, after all I as well as many others will be the one

to execute the new plan, so I feel that as such I should be allowed to

voice my opinion about it."

"Well that makes sense; you can stay just as long as you do not

hinder our discussion" Frank replies much to Martin delight and

Lieutenant Richard's dismay.

"But sir, this child doesn't even have half of the experience we

have."

"Yes Lieutenant, but he is correct it will be him and the others

executing most the plan."
