----Kaneki's POV----

I woke up with Touka in my arms and, Hinami was leaning half off the bed. I pulled her up and she hugged Touka to secure herself. Cute.

I looked at my phone to see it to be 7am. I was up too early but, that was fine.

As I moved out of bed I felt movement behind me, I turned to see Touka waking up.

"Oi, Kaneki where you going?" She whispered so Hinami wouldn't wake up. I was about to go and ask the manager a few questions about recent ghoul attacks as, they had been getting closer and closer. I couldn't tell Touka that so I made up a shitty excuse on the spot.

"I'm going to make a coffee for us both but, now you're awake I can ask at least." I gulped and watched as she studied my movement before she yawned and led back down.

"Kaneki you make crap coffee." She replied and put her hands over her eyes to block out the light. She looked so tired I really shouldn't have woken her up.

I walked out the room and went down into the shop so I could get fresh air. I opened the door and stepped outside. It was still dark and it was freezing. I sat there mesmerised just, watching my breath as it made a small cloud. In fact I was so out of it I didn't see Touka come behind me with our coffee.

As a reflex I almost knocked it out her hand... That was so close that could've been the end of me. There are things that make people bad, drugs, alcohol and ghouls but, those things can also make a person happier. It's the long time effects that are passed. Murder, depression and cancer.

"Kaneki! Drink.your.damn.coffee." Touka half shouted.

"Sorry... sorry. Hey do you think I'm a bad person."

"Hmmm?"

"Like I've murdered people right but, because I'm a ghoul does that take the bad away from it?"

"Kaneki look at it this way, humans kill animals to stay alive. Simply just look at them as animals that was caught in an accident. Could be prevented but the world is too naive to do anything."

"Right. Anyway what day is it today I've lost track of time."

"Thursday."

"Oh. I better get ready for work."

"Yeah..."

----- Touka's POV -----

That was weird Kaneki use to be all soft like that but I thought he had changed. I can't keep up with all the change bit,  I think it's cute he is back to his old self but, I'm scared he will hate ghouls, again.

I walked back in and went into my room to see Kaneki carrying Hinami to her room. I got dressed into my uniform after having a quick shower. Then got to work.

Today felt strange. Like something or someone around was bad news. I got the creeps just thinking about it. To add to the grotesque feelings around it was practically a ghost town... no one was coming to the store and, outside was empty.

I switched to the news just in case I missed something. As I watched I understood why no one was here. Ghoul attacks.

"Ughhh. I'm soooooo bored." I heard Kaneki moan in the corner.

"Hey Kaneki have you heard anything about these ghoul attacks?"

"No I was planning to ask the manager about it. I think I might have a clue who or what caused it but I'm not sure..."

"It's you isn't it."

"I'm not sure. Jason wanted me so he probably sent people."

"Why are you so emotionless about this you could get us killed."

"But I know you guys won't let that happen." I grunt in frustration as I walk pass him and sigh.

"Kaneki I really thought you hadn't changed that you still was in there but at times like this you just piss me off."

I went to my room grabbed my coat and my backpack with my some of my stuff and headed back to my apartment. As I got in I sat on my sofa and switched on my TV.

'An tip from an unknown source say that two ghouls controlling this attack is the rabbit and eyepatch.'

"What the fuck... me nor kankei are involved." I picked up my phone as fast as possible and dialed kankei's number.

"Hurry, hurry. Thank god kankei did you watch the news."

"Nope I'm sat reading with Hinami"

"You need to come here now. This is serious..."

"I'm coming."
