Here I lay on my side,
Longing for you on the other.
You say that you care
But, some nights I beg to differ.Does it make me desperate,
To not feel prioritized?
I feel this by realizing
You do care — just not like I.The marble under pedestaled faith
Cracks from a loss of purpose
Despite your words of praise
Saying that I am one to cherish. What does two mean to you?
You're no stranger to abandonment.
Wouldn't one like the opposite?
I guess fear fills us like aliment.Give me a foundation
Something to make this work.
So, I don't sit with my arms open
And ache as your thoughts lurk. You keep me up
Because you want me to be
But your silence is so numbing that
I can't feel the ground beneath me.These promises are as broken as us.
I reach for the knob on the door,
But your breath tickles the hairs on my neck
When you say, "I need you more."
