"Do you know a kid named Sebastian?" Lana asked Brittany, a girl in her English class. Brittany turned her head, brown eyes narrowing as if she didn't hear Lana.

"Everybody knows him," Brittany laughed, her nose crinkling, "I heard he went to your house last night." She winked, her black hair falling over her shoulders.

Lana rolled her eyes, "It wasn't like that, he did it as a dare."

"I heard he showed up in a pink dress , too."

Lanas' cheeks stretched into a smile, "Well, that was true."

Brittany grinned, "So, why do you ask of him?"

Lana shrugged innocently, letting her pencil roll on the desk lazily. "I was just wondering if you knew him."

"He's a little dumb, Lana, I wouldn't date him if I were you."

"Who ever said I wanted to date him?"

"You got that look in your eyes," Brittany smirked, popping a piece of spearmint gum in her mouth.

"I rather not," Lana said formally.

"Well you gotta date somebody." Brittany concluded, blowing a bubble between her lips, "There's Daniel, Christian, Eric-"

"I'm not interested," Lana repeated.

Brittany let her mouth fall open, the gum almost falling out, "Are you a lesbian?"

"No," Lana laughed, "I've just...been hurt enough times."

"Eh...then don't date the boys here, they always give you a hard time."

"But, what about you?" Lana questioned, "Any boyfriend?"

Brittanys' pale cheeks broke out a warm blush, "Well, I started dating Alejandro."

"Who's that? I never met him."

"Well, he graduated already." Brittany answered, "He's two years older than me and he always dates Asians, so he was eventually going to ask me out." She smiled radiantly, proud of the fact her ethnicity won her a boyfriend.

"He's 19?"

She nodded proudly, "In two years he could buy me all the alcohol I want." She paused, "You know, you should come with us to the drive-in!"

"Drive-in? What's that?"

"Watching movies in the car, I can't believe you never went to one!" She leaned back into her chair, "Come with us tonight, it'll be fun."

"I don't know if I can," Lana interjected,  looking away from the excited girl.

"Come on Lana! You have to!"

"I'll try," she hesitated, but, she knew there wasn't any way she could get out of the house.

"'Maybe I'll invite Sebastian."

Lana gave her a look, "I don't like him."

"Then you should have no problem with me inviting him." Brittany smiled, and she stuck the piece of gum right underneath her desk.

Chris laughed over the phone, "So you are going tonight then?"

"I doubt it." Lana replied, glancing at her driveway just in case her aunt and uncle pulled in.

"But you're home alone, aren't you?"
