(Y/N) was crying, her arm stung from the fresh cuts. She wasn't depressed, those cuts had been put there by her "loving" mom and dad. She was sitting on the Gryffindor couch, being the first person there. Neville then came in,
"Hey (Y/N)! Are you okay? You don't look so good"
"Leave me in peace Longbottom! I don't want anyone bothering me!" She snapped, then regretted her words,
"Well fine then...I was just wondering"
"Wait! Neville!" she ran to him, grabbing his arm
"What? I thought you didn't want anyone bothering you"
He walked out, which in turn caused you to cry more.
***Timeskip to After Christmas***
(Y/N) had returned from home with no presents, more cuts, and fresh tears. She went to the common room, curled up in a corner, and began to cry out her eyes. She heard footsteps,
"(Y/N)?" came a voice, "I found this on the side table next to the couch...is...is this all really true?"
"W-what?" she looked, tears blurring her vision of the person
"Let me read it..."
"Dear (Y/N), This is your mother, you better not think about not coming home for the holidays. Otherwise, the punishment will be more blood from you than last time. And I mean it...the blade is waiting...I sharpened it this morning, Love Mom and Dad"
"Fat load of love they give me" (Y/N) said angrily,
"I didn't know they hurt you...(Y/N), you need to tell me these things...I now understand why you were angry...I...I want to help"
Gently, the person came closer, rolling down her sleeve, looking at the deep cuts. Gently pressing his lips to each one.
"I want to help because I love you..." he brushed the tears away and (Y/N) finally saw her lover,
"N-neville?"
"Hello (Y/N). You're never going back to that wretched family again. They can't find you if you come stay with me and Grandma...please (Y/N)...I don't want you to get hurt again"
"O-okay...I'll go with you..."
"Good"
He helped her up, hugging her tightly,
"Neville..."
"Yes..."
He looked at her sweetly,
"I love you too. I'm sorry I yelled. You just wanted to help"
"I know what will make it right"
He leaned in, gently kissing her lips softly. (Y/N) kissed back. She finally found her real family and lover. Neville Longbottom.
