"What do you want to do when you grow up?" I asked

I was half-laying on one of the couches in the Gryffindor with Remus Lupin, my boyfriend of two years. My head was on his shoulder, and his arm was hugging my waist, bringing me closer. A blanket covered both of our legs.

"I don't know. Maybe a teacher, I would love to have that impact on a kids life." Remus replied.

"You'd be great with kids." I smiled, looking into his green eyes. "I wish I could stay here forever."

"Me too. But we still have half an hour before everyone comes back from dinner. Just you and me, and the crackling fireplace."

I giggled "You're such a sap Rem." I leaned up and gave him a chaste kiss, but as soon as I pulled away, he grabbed my face and pulled me back. Our lips moved against each other in synch, and I smiled into the kiss. Suddenly, I heard the portrait hole open, and I looked away from my boyfriend and saw James Potter trip over his robes and fell to the floor.

"Ouch!" The fifteen-year-old cried, getting tangled in his school uniform as he tried to get up.

"James? What are you doing here?" I asked, "Why aren't you at dinner?"

The awkward, gangly, teen finally managed to get to his feet. "So, um... it's kinda a long story..."

"Oh no..." Remus muttered. I elbowed him.

"Quiet. James, what happened?"

"So, Sirius, Peter, and I were in the hallway on the 3rd floor, you know the one I'm talking about?"

"Yeah, we know, just tell the story so I can go back to what I was doing before," Remus said, annoyed. I laughed quietly while James continued.

"So we were messing around and somehow....um....Sirius um... got hung on the fan in the Charms classroom?" James' voice got higher at the end, either making the statement sound like a question, or he might have just had a voice crack. He was a teenage boy after all.

"And you had to interrupt my make out session why?" I snuggled closer to my boyfriend at his comment, hiding my smile in his chest.

"Well, we were kinda hoping you could come help Remus?"

"Can't Sirius just jump down?" I asked

"Ya, about that, apparently Sirius is afraid of heights."

I couldn't help it. I laughed so hard I snorted. "Really? Sirius Black, afraid of heights? I am totally going to use that as blackmail!"

"Well, I'm not helping. I'm staying right here, with the love of my life." Remus had that stubborn look he wore very rarely. But I knew when he did have that look, there was no changing his mind. Once, he decided that we need to break up because I could never have a "happy" life with him. We were split up for a month before I finally convinced him that without him, I couldn't have a happy life.

James clearly knew how stubborn Remus could be as well, as he just said "Ok then" and left, this time managing not to trip over his uniform.

I looked up at my boyfriend. "Love of your life?" I asked, smiling slightly. Remus and I had never officially said "I love you" to each other. I mean, we both knew it, but for some reason, we had never said it out loud. At least sober.

"What? I didn't say love of my-" Remus stopped suddenly. "Yes. Yes, you're the love of my life. I love you so much, and I don't want to spend a day without you."

I smiled much wider this time. "Rem, I love you too. So much. More than you could ever imagine." I kissed him, but this time, it was more passionate, more loving than any other kiss we had ever shared. Until:

"Hey, guys, can you come help Siri-oof!"

Remus growled as Peter fell through the portrait hole and got tangled in his robes, so we couldn't even see him.

My boyfriend simply ignored the smaller boy and kissed me again.
