The year was 1916 in England, Liverpool, it was a sunny atumn day in the vibrent park as a young girl named Maria was skipping through the emerald green grass admiring the active animals collecting there food and building dens for them to sleep peacefully in ,she watched the creaters as they prepared for the harsh snowy winter days that still had yet to come, she walked through the gleaming trees that leaves were falling off by the minute and smiled as the rays of glistening sun shun through what was left of the leaves that didn't fall. Maria was a adventures girl that loved to explore long distances from her cotage then what she was supposed to. This time she went too far. As Maria, still unaware of how far she skipped, continued to skip into the dark deep forest. The forest was no longer sunny or shiny, but instead a dull gray and black color, as if it had no life, the once gleaming trees were dead and shriveled up just like the plants on the ground that used to have bright beaming colors that rainbows mite have, the emerald grass was no more but soil with only a few spects of dead grass. Sun no longer shined.

Without looking where she was walking, she often triped over large tree branches that fell, or run into bushes, maybe sometimes  holes. This time however she fell into a extensive hole that could be clased as a mile long as screamed her lungs out, luckily a pile of dead leaves and flowers broke her fall as she landed in the mysterious hole. After staying in the position she was for a while she looked up to examined the hole. It had dead gray vines coming down from all directions and dead flowers and tharwns attached to the vines, within the hole was a cave, the cave had the same dead gray vines and flowers like the vines from the hole. Slowly Maria got up, horrified from the scream that came from the darkness of the cave, gavering up the bravery she had, she crawled towards the sound as she went deeper into the darkness. Without a second of being in complete darkness, blinded by the lack of light a song was played on the other end of the cave, Maria was scared, horrified even but some how the song relaxed her as she continued to crawl further until a light could be seen. Maria crawling faster to get to the other side finally saw what the mysterious light was.

However the light wasn't a way out but in fact a shining beam of sun that shun upon a figure rapped in dead vines holding a box in the small cave, behind the person was a large wooden door that had clear signs of scratches as if the stranger tried to get out but died as they could not succeed getting the door open. Maria took a pause for a minute, exsamining the person to see if it was her singing the song. Ripping the vines away from the stranger to get a better look, she showed no sighns of any life, she had pink and white curly hair, wore a hot pink top and red bow tie with pink and white striped sleeves with gloves, wore the same coloured striped leggings underneath the brown shorts with suspenders and wore hot pink knee high boots with laces going to her ankles, her face was pale as snow, she wore lipstick on huge smile reaching both rosy cheeks on her face, her nose was red and her eyes black as night.

Maria was confused to see what looked liked a clown to be down here, in this dark cave, with only a ray of sunlight coming through the shallow hole. Upon the clown was a shining golden wind up key bigger then any key she saw before on a toy or music box. Curious, she grabbed the key with her own two hand and pushed down as hard as she could, with clicks and ticks coming from the clown as if it was starting up or perhaps turning on, her onces black eyes give out a purple glow, as the glow phaded Maria got to look at the clowns eyes, purple pupils with swirls in them. The clown looked at Maria and Maria looked back, a few awkward minutes went by before "h-hello?" Maria shyly whispered as if she didn't want the clown to hear what she said. "Hello!?" Maria praticly yelled before the clown got up menacingly, towering over Maria at 5.11. Maria was terrified, "m-m-miss are you a-all right?" Maria said cowardly as the clown only looked down upon the 7 year old confused "i-i" was only the clown said before suddenly falling on the ground again holding her head with her hand "tell me kid what year is it?" The clown whispered quietly "1916 ma'am" Maria said confidently as she smiled "ah I see... The names Peppermint kid nice ta met ya!" The clown known now as Peppermint said in happiness as she stretched out her long thin arm holding her hand out for a handshake witch Maria soon took as she shaked the clowns hand, "that music box is it yours?" Maria asked pointing towards the box to which Peppermint's grip soon tightened around the small object, "let's forget about the music box and try to find a way out shall we?" Peppermint said ignoring Maria's question as the two got up and looked for a way to open the damaged old door.

"I know!" Maria shouted in joy as Peppermint cocked a eyebrow in confuson, wondering what her idea mite be, "That hole in the door, maybe a doorknob was in there!" Maria explained in excitement "so?" Peppermint asked not understanding what the little girl was saying, "we just need to find a doorknob for it to open!" Maria once again yelled in joy as she jumped up and down with glee. Peppermint soon understood what she had to do, soon after Maria said it Peppermint instantly found a doorknob, as if she knew where it already was. Peppermint handed the shiny golden doorknob to Maria who shortly after placed it in the hole of the door, and turned it slowly. click. The door opened, Maria yelled in happiness as she jumped up and down with joy for what she did. Peppermint ruffed Maria's hair "good job kid you got us out!" She said laughing a tiny bit. Maria tried pushing the door open only for Peppermint to push it open for her, once the heavy wooden door was open, it revealed a long stair case heading up towards the surface. Peppermint picking up Maria and placing her on her shoulders walked up the stairs into the gleaming forest once again, this time it wasn't dark.

Placing Maria down cerfuly Peppermint looked around the forest with excitement "Yay!" Maria yelled as she put her arms in the air running around the clown before stopping and hugging Peppermint, "we got out I thought I would be there forever!" Maria explained "luckily you didn't" the clown calmly said towards Maria as she only smiled "you should go home now I'm pretty sure your mother and father must be worried sick!" Peppermint chimed as Maria smile slowly faded into a frown, only to slowly nodded she slowly grabbed Peppermint's hand leading the clown to her house.

After a while of walking through the forest, the two reached a little cottage just out side from were the forest was. "I should show you around the house! You can meet my family!" maria spoke after a while with a beaming smile upon her face, "alright kid.." Peppermint shyly stated unsure if she should meet them. Slowly Maria opened the wooden door, Peppermint was nervous, wondering what her parents would think of the clown, "MAMA!" Maria shouted as Peppermint jumped out of her thoughts from the young girl shouting, " I brought a friend!" Maria yelled towards her mother before she came out of the decorated" have you now?" Marias mother asked sarcastically while looking at Maria only to see the girl holding the air "oh a imaginary friend" her mother whispered in hope Maria didn't hear while Maria heard it all and looked up at Peppermint clearly seeing her while holding her hand, "momma she right here though" Maria whispered unsure if the clowns hand she holding real, Peppermint noticed her worry and bent down next to the girl before speaking" don't worry people who don't believe can't see me " , Maria looked at the clown confused "what do you mean don't believe?" Maria practically yelled at the clown "its sad but over the age f 14 no one can see me, I can make them see me but I prepare them not to, they'll take me away" Peppermint explained in a sad tone while almost. Crying?
