Yato X Yukine: Nightfall - Part 4

Yukine POV
I awoke to the sound of soothing rainfall dancing across the attic roof. I lay still, my eyes
closed as I listened to the peaceful rain and the soft breathing of the god who lay beside me.
I could feel Yatos warm body resting against mine. I opened my eyes slowly, allowing them to  adjust to the sunlight which was battling its way through the rain clouds.
My eyes adjusted and I was face to face with a sleeping Yato. Even though I could feel him next to me it was still pleasantly surprising to open my eyes and see him so close to me. His scruffy hair perfectly framing his handsome face,  his fair skin contrasting his midnight hair, his soft lips and peaceful closed eye.
Was he always this beautiful??

Whilst I marvelled at him I had not realised I was unknowingly closing the gap between us.
I pulled back swiftly, surprised by my own actions. 'W-what was I doing?!? I-I was just trying to get a better look!' I assured myself.
I was shaken from my inner turmoil when I heard Yato mumbled in his sleep.
I instinctively froze and closed my eyes and waited for the inevitable, but he didn't awake.
I breathed a sigh of relief before deciding  my next move; I was going to try sneaking out of bed! There was no way for me to fall back to sleep now! and I don't think my heart could hold out if I just lay here until he wakes up.
So it's decided!
I began by pulling my body away from his as slowly as possible whilst removing his arm from around my waist, blushing as his hand glided across my hip.
Once I was finally free from Yato and the futon I snuck over to my pile of clothes, scooped up what I needed into my arm and tiptoed to the door.

''It's as if your sneaking out from a one night stand, Yukine~'' I heard Yato chime from across the room. I peek over my shoulder to see him smiling his signature goofy smile, which just fuelled my embarrassment.
''H-how long w..'' I managed to whisper, before Yato playfully interjected "sorry, i can't hear you~" with a mischievous grin.
''How long were you awake?!'' I snapped back at him.
The room fell silent and an uneasy feeling washed over me. Yato wasn't smiling anymore. I covered my mouth with my hand, shocked by my own temper.
After a agonising long moment of silence I pulled my hand away, took a deep breath and began to mutter an apology.

I awaited a scolding but all that broke the silence was a muffled chuckle. Looking up from my feet I glanced over at Yato who was failing to control a fit of laughter. My face flushed and I could feel my ears burning from a mixture of anger and embarrassment.

'' You look so cute when your flustered Yukine~'' Yato managed to choke out in between his snickering.
With my emotions bubbling up within me I balled my hands into fist and closed my eyes before shouting the only insult I could think of
'' y-you pervert! Your a Pervy God, Yato !''
Without looking him in the eye I turn around, opened the door and slammed it behind me.
I paused for a moment in the hall way, attempting to control my racing heart beat.
After a few moments I sighed and mumbled ''Stupid Yato'' before heading for the bathroom.

Yato POV

''Oh Yukine you make it so easy for me to tease you'' He's so cute, I thought with a smile.
Deciding that I better get up and try make myself useful. I began climbing out of the futon before a sharp pain caught me off guard. I grabbed the back of my neck and winced as the pain spread.
''Y-Yukine? - He stung me??''
