It had been a week now since you'd built the snowman with Shoto and you'd hung out with him every day since.
You found yourself declining your friends offers to sit with them at lunch so you could sit with the boy you'd come to call your best friend.
You would both often share food, swapping different parts of your meals if the other had something they liked. In fact it had become a daily thing and your friends very rarely asked if you wanted to have lunch with them anymore, finding that your answer was always the same.
"Hey Shoto?"
You mumbled, your mouth still stuffed with food causing the words to be slightly distorted.
Todoroki turned his head towards you, a laugh escaping his lips as he saw your puffed out cheeks, your mouth only just being able to shut from the amount of food in it. You reminded him of a hamster.
"Yeah, Y/N?"
It was silent for a moment as you finished the food that was in your mouth before you spoke again, not wanting him to see the chewed up mush in your mouth
"When we grow up, let's get married."
You paused for a minute, staring at the boy expectantly before holding your pinky finger out.
"Okay, Shoto? Every other boy is stinky so I will only get married if it's to you."
You giggled lightly as he intertwined his pinky with your own, both of your cheeks flushed red in excitement.
"Okay Y/N."
You smiled brightly before continuing to eat your lunch.
Neither of you knew what love was, obviously, since you were only 5, but what you did know is that when he accepted, you felt like you were going to burst from happiness.
And so the rest of the lunch period was spent with the two of you playing outside in the snow that remained, the smile never leaving either of your faces.
Little did you know the next time you saw Shoto would be the last.
