Chapter twenty-one: The park

Chapter 21

Haru

After a couple of days staying in the hospital, the doctor gave us the permission to take Aika home.

Her Mom didn’t pursue her to go back to Hokkaido anymore. Since the doctor told us not to put a lot of stress in her.

“I’m home” she whispered. “I missed this place” she said, jumping on the bed.

I put her bags down and joined her, hugging her.

“Haru?” she asked.

“Yes?”

“Can we visit the park?”

“Sure”

We went to the park as soon as we unpack her bag. We got one week don’t-come-to-school-because-you’re-excuse permission. Because they all know what happened to her after all. Aika’s Mom let our teachers know.

“Isn’t this wonderful Aika?” I asked holding her hands.

She nodded, “so many memories” she whispered.

“A-Aika?” someone called.

It’s Masato Michio.

“You don’t respond to my texts, you don’t answer my calls. What happened to you?” he asked, “I was worried.”

He was about to take her hand when Aika moved away.

“Who are you?” she asked.

“What do you mean? It’s me Ma-“

“Stop it! Michio” I yelled, “she don’t remember you”
