We laid in silence until I decided to check the time on my phone. It was nearly half eleven now. I knew I had to leave, I pulled out of Oliver's arms and watched as he looked at me "Do you have to go?"
I stood up and laid a gentle kiss on his temple "I'll be back tomorrow; I promise"
He nodded and rolled over as I left the cell, I walked back to my office. I unlocked it and went over to my laptop, I saved Oliver's file to my memory stick and began getting ready to go home. I left my office and slung my bag over my shoulder, I locked the door and began walking down the corridor. I heard Henry shout me just as I was about to leave, I turned around and watched as he jogged up to my side.
"Where were you?"
I furrowed my brow already trying to think of a lie "When?"
"I came back to check on you a little while ago, your office lights were on but the door was locked" He eyed me suspiciously
"Oh" I laughed "I went to the toilet"
"Right" He said slowly "I think it's time you went home anyway"
I nodded "That's where I'm headed now, night"
I waved as I left the unit and made my way out the building. I was never a good liar and I was pretty sure Henry could see straight through me. I finally got to the exit and done the zip to my coat up as I left the building, I was so thankful that my home was only a few minutes away.
I walked down the front path and unlocked the front door, it was warm inside. I put everything away, shoes, coat and bag and headed up stairs to my bed. I went to the bathroom on the way, had a quick shower, brushed my teeth and carried on to my bedroom. I pulled some pyjamas out my chest of drawers and changed into them. I got into my bed, it was cold as I laid there.
I sighed and closed my eyes, as usual all I could think about was Oliver. Could we really win this appeal? Was he really going to get out? What would happen to us if he did? I really wanted to win the appeal, I wanted for everything within that cell to become a reality right here.
Sleep soon washed over me and I fell into a dreamless sleep. I woke up to my phone alarm as usual, I turned the alarm off and sat up swinging my legs over the side and yawning as I rubbed my tired eyes. I forced myself up and stretched my arms above my head, the room was still dark and it was cold. I walked out and ran down the stairs quickly to put the heating on. I ran back up and went into the bathroom, brushed my teeth and pulled my makeup out the cupboard. I quickly applied my light makeup and went back into the bedroom. I pulled out a pair of black jeans and a cream blouse type top.
After getting dressed I headed back downstairs to make myself a bowl of cereal. I looked at the clock on the windowsill in the kitchen, it was only just half six so I had plenty of time to sit and eat. I thought about last night with Oliver, he was sure to question me again on my loud thoughts. I didn't mean for it to come out, but what if my feelings were growing stronger for him?
I finished my bowl and put it in the kitchen sink before deciding to head over to the prison, I pulled my coat and bag on before heading out the door, locking it behind me. I walked in the dim glow of the street lights and noticed the frost on the bushes, it was the first frost of the year. I came around the corner of the prison and walked through the car park, fobbing myself in I shivered as the cold finally got through my coat.
No-one was sat at reception so I figured they were mid hand over. I walked through towards my office the inmates were obviously just waking up as I could hear the low rumble of noise from the cells. I entered my office and slung my bag under my desk, I then locked the office up and headed towards the staff canteen for my daily morning coffee.
