I ran out of building, giving the impression to the others waiting, that I bombed. Out in the rain and speed dialed Nickolaus.

"How did it go?" He answered, nearly cried out in excitement.

Feeling his excitement I nearly shouted myself, but I wanted it to be special.

"Can you meet me at our spot?" I said in the most depressed voice I could muster.

"Oh babe, yes. Give me an hour." I heard the sadness replace the excitement and hope. It killed me to be causing this, but it was going to be worth it.

"Okay see you there." I forced out a sob to mask the scream that was building in my throat. I hung up on him and hurried home.

I get twenty-dollars bi-weekly for chorus, at the time me and Nickolaus started dating I had two hundred and forty dollars. Three months into dating I saw the audition call, I had three hundred and twenty. Even then, I knew that if I got the part of JD. Things were going to change for one my parents were going to be furious. I had convince them that I was going for a comedy role in a brand new play, knowing that they would never look. With the awaiting tension that I was about to cause in the household, it was time to let Nickolaus know that I was ready to take the next step with him. Two weeks ago I went to a jeweler and got two promise rings.

On the outside of the rings was, Meant to be Yours. On the inside was, Jericho &Nickolaus. I got them last week and hid them in my closet, which the rings it put even greater presser on me to land the part.

I was singing the chorus over and over again, unable to believe that I got the part right on the spot.I literally fuck up at the beginning. If it weren't for the phone going off and pissing me off, I most likely would have been asked to stop a couple lines into the song. Singing them now had a different feel because they belonged to me. All I needed to do was perfect them.

I open the door to my house and was hurrying to my room, I had ten minutes to get to the playground.

"Anxiety! How did it go?"My dad called from the living room.

"Could have been better."I said from the hall half way to my room, "but I was asked to come back. So I am grabbing something."

I missed the last bit because I hurried into my room and shut the door. Throwing my backpack on my bed and going to my closet. Reached into the back and grabbed the little black felt bag.

"Anxiety?" I heard my door creek open.

I turned and stuffed the bag in my back pocket, "Yes, mom?" I asked shaken.

"How bad was it?" She asked softly.

"Please, mom. Later, I need to get back." I lied.

"Let me take you."

"No!" This startled us both, "sorry, it just I am already embarrassed that I screwed my shot."

"Language. Okay, son, dinner with be waiting for you."

"Thanks." I said.Starting to the door causing her to back into the hall. I could sense that she wanted to hug me to ease my suffering. I one arm hugged her. Then left.

Once back out in the rain I let out a yell, it hurt to hide such news. I would battle with them later. Right know I needed to meet Nickolaus.

He was sitting on a swing, pushing himself with his foot. Grateful the playground was empty of any onlookers.

I quietly and quickly climbed the slide, standing at the top. I looked down at the man, to whom my heart belongs.

"I was meant to be yours, you were meant to be mine. We are meant to be one!" I sang down to him.
