Anika

That was the last thing I saw before I logged out and answered my phone. It's Vanderwood of course.

"It's Seven. He just ran out with the equipment," she rushed.

"It's alright. He's coming with me. I'll have him finish his work with me under my supervision. Take a break for now, Vanderwood. You deserve it," I said as Seven opened my door. He set his stuff in the back and got in the passenger seat.

"Are you sure about this?" She asked.

"Are you questioning my actions, cause I can remind you of who is the Superior of us two," I stated with a growl.

"No ma'am! Sorry. I'll take that break like you said," she rushed.

"Good girl. I'll call you when we're done," I said. With that, I hung up and looked at Seven.

"Can I ask questions on the way?" He asked.

"Of course. I'll answer honestly too," I nodded.

"Were you acting in the chatrooms? You know, being a different person?" He asked.

"That was the real me. The me I don't get to express because of being an agent," I answered.

"When you were talking to me, being nice to me, was that real?" He asked.

"Luciel, it's dangerous for an agent to get involved with someone, but I can't ignore my feelings. I'm glad I was lead to the apartment," I whispered.

"Can you hack?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm great with that, but I work better on the field rather than behind a computer," I answered. "Though I'm sure you saw me on the CCTV walking out and come back with a laptop and some equipment."

"I think I saw," he nodded. "Then again, Vanderwood was the one watching the most."

"I bet she was since you had work," I laughed.

"I just wanna ask again. Do you like me?" He asked.

"I do. I tried so hard because I knew S- I knew it's not good to get attached to someone," I answered.

"Smart girl. So what did you stop yourself from saying though?" He asked.

My phone rang before I could even answer him. The ID was the exact person I have been waiting to call me. I answered immediately.

"Finally! You dipping Jack nugget! When the hell were you gonna call?? Do you know how worried I've been?!" I rushed as my heart raced.

"Nice to talk to you too," he chuckled.

"This isn't something to laugh about! I thought I lost the first person who ever treated me like an actual friend!" I cried.

"I'm sorry! I just didn't want you getting caught up because of me. I care about you and I wanted to keep you safe. You're the first friend I had since he left!" He rushed. "Don't cry. Please stop crying. I'm sorry."

"You know, you should consider that maybe that's what you're brother was doing," I laughed finally.

"Don't start on that!" He whined.

"I haven't nagged you in 2 years! I have a lot of catching up to do on that!" I stated.

"Ugh! Fine! Just know that I'm the one that led you to that apartment," he said smugly.

"I had my suspicions that it was you. By the way, you're gonna need to call more often!" I said.

"Are you busy?" He asked.
