Dachunds are a small long bodied breed that belong into the Hound group. They have several Nick names including Sausage dog, wiener dog, frankies, and many more. They originated in Germany and were bred for hunting Badgers, and other small-borrowing animals. But Miniture dachshunds were also bred, to catch rabbits and go down their holes.

Dachshunds have a life span of 12-17 years in human years. In The United States, dachunds are used to hunt prarie dogs and find wounded deer. Dachshunds are great house pets, but can be very energetic and playful so make sure your dachshund gets enough excersise every day! They will get along with other breeds but be wery of big breeds but that's usual with every dog.
