Part 3:

I sat cross legged on my bed with books spread everywhere, papers flung around, mugs of half drunk hot chocolate or coffee. Failed sentence after failed sentence I finally gave up after half an hour. Trying to write an english paper that was due in a couple days is harder than you think, especially when Mrs. Josie gave us four days from monday to have it done and handed in. We were meant to write about Nuclear Energy. I let out a growl frustration, got up and started pacing around my room, rubbing my temples my thumb and index finger, hoping that would generate some idea. I was walking around for what felt like forever before my bedroom door opened. My Mum stuck her head through the doorway and laughed when she saw what state my bedroom was in, and then laughed even harder after seeing what state I was in, hair everywhere, red face and about to explode with anger and that stupid paper!

"Don't laugh!" I grumbled. She immediately stopped laughing and pulled her poker face,

"But i'm not laughing!" She exclaimed, though she couldn't help but contain that stupid smirk.

"Yes you are, you're smiling!" I shot back. I dropped my hand from my head and let them hang by my sides.

"Okay, okay, i'm not laughing see," She pointed to her face, no smile this time, "Promise."

"Fine."

"You look like you need some help, honey." She raised her eyebrows at me.

"Yeah, I do." I looked at my feet. My Mum opened the door fully and came over to me, wrapping me in her arms, I did the same.

"It's okay to ask for help, Anna."

"I know, I just like to do things on my own."

"I know, you're just like your father when we were dating, though, he's still like that now." she laughed and untucked her arms from around me and laid them on my shoulders.

"What was Dad like when you were dating?"I asked her.

"Well, you father did crazy, unbelievable things when we were younger," She wrapped her arm around my shoulders and walked me over to my bed.

"How crazy?" I asked, intrigued.

"Crazy like jumping out of a plane and asking me to come with him."

"Did you go?"

"Yes, I did. It was when we landed that your father proposed to me."

"Really? How come you've never told me this?!" I exclaim.

"You never asked."

"Fine fine, go on." I nodded for her to continue.

"When we were airborne other skydivers jumped out too, but with big cards that had writing on them. I wasn't able to tell what they said until all of them flew together and held up their cards, they said; 'My sweet, will you marry me?'"

"Dad did that?" I can't believe she never told me this! How amazing would that be?!

"When we landed Peter couldn't stop smiling, and neither could I. The next thing I knew, Peter was down on one knee and saying the words that I always dreamed of hearing." She looked at the wall behind me, staring into the world of memories. I could almost see the love in her eyes, it was so present.

"The ring was the most beautiful thing I ever saw." She looked back to me and then down to her hand. I reached for her left hand and found her engagement ring. It was utterly beautiful, a gold band with the most intricate designs I ever saw.
