In English class, Perrie was trying not to fall asleep. She had stayed up late the night before, completing an assignment she had forgotten about during the week and studying for her finals tomorrow. She was not in a good mood.
Roc tapped her on the shoulder. He and she were in the same English class. "You gotta stay awake Pez." He whispered.
Perrie rolled her eyes. "You didn't stay up as late as I did." She frowned. "Since when are you in my English class?"
Roc blushed. "Since I got the teachers to put me in the same English class as you for health reasons."
Perrie tilted her head sleepily. "What 'health reasons'?" She was genuinely confused.
Roc Royal started clearing his throat suddenly.
Perrie's phone suddenly buzzed. "Dafuq?" She said. They weren't allowed to check their phones during class but at the moment she didn't care. She pulled the device out of her pocket and stared at it with sleepy eyes.

Perrie's eyes were wide. "Roc I think they know about the tree that wants to kill us, look." She whispered showing the boy the message.
Roc Royal gasped. "Oh no. We gon' turn into lab rats." He said in panic. He and Perrie panicked for a little before the teacher told them to be quiet.
Somebody behind Roc Royal tapped his shoulder. "You know where she is don't you?" The boy asked bitterly.
Roc Royal was beyond confused. "What you talking 'bout nigga?"
Perrie felt bewildered as well. "Know where who is?" She asked surveying the class a little. Everyone was staring daggers at her and Roc. "What the hell?" She mumbled slowly.
The boy pointed at a poster at the front of the class next to the board. Roc and Perrie squint their eyes at it. It was a picture of Leigh-Anne with her dog, wearing a huge smile. "Awww." Roc said. "That's a cute pic of her don't you think Pez?"
Perrie was nodding. "Yeah she looks pretty." Her breath caught. "Wait a minute . . . is that a wanted poster?"
"Wanted? Leigh-Anne is a fugitive?" Roc Royal asked looking around in bafflement.
The boy groaned. "She's missing you idiots. She's missing and you know where she is."
"She's not missing." Perrie said. Her statement caused the class to roar in suspicious whispers. The teacher tried to silence them. Perrie covered her mouth.
"You know where she is then?" A chick sitting across from them asked.
"Is she okay?" A voice close by asked. Many similar questions started being shot at them.
Perrie and Roc exchanged a look. "Roc I feel like we're not allowed to tell them where she is." She whispered as softly as she could so that no one would hear.
"Why not?" Roc asked looking at the children who were staring at them expectantly.
"Leigh doesn't want to be found remember?" Perrie whispered back
"Ohhh. You're right." Roc said softly. "Sorry y'all but we don't know where she be." He winked at a now giggling Perrie.
"Guys he just winked. He knows where she is!" A boy shouted.
"But we don't know where she is." Perrie said batting her lashes with a smile. "She's 'missing' remember?" She and Roc giggled like little girls.
"Tell us c'mon! She showed up for her club meetings on Saturday and it seems she was at Jade's that night and at Jade's on Sunday. Jade is in on it which means that you all are." A girl urged as the rest of the class started crowding them. The teacher seemed to be stuck on something on her phone so didn't notice.
