Nightmare

A new friend

        Eli was once more encased in the dark in the world of nightmares. He walks through the black fog once more and tries to fam away the black fog out of habit. "Hello?" He says waving his hands in the dark fog. Eli hears somebody sobbing not too far away from him. He tries to walk towards whoever was crying. "Hello?" He repeats once more, before coming across the shadow. The shadow was standing in the corner, hugging itself. Eli tries to reach out, but assumes it's best not to do, and the tall figure wants time to itself. After the sobbing faded a bit, the shadow slowly turns back to look at Eli. It's red glass eyes looking down on him, all foggy.

"Thought you never return..back to me"

The monster slowly pronounces, as if he is new to the English language. Eli looks up at the monster surprised. "You thought I would never return? Why would you want me to return?" Eli questions surprised.

"Me..you.  Friends."

The monster says through tears. Eli was happy for the shadow to say that. He felt a warm sweet feeling in his heart. The boy was honored to be a friend to at least someone, even if it wasn't in the real world. Eli gave a sweet smile to the towering figure. "I would never leave you, you're too sweet," Eli was beaming so bright at this point. "Well, only friends would share their names, what is yours?"

"Tafió."

Eli smiled even brighter if possible. What an unusual name. He hasn't heard it before but it had a nice ring to it.

"Well Tafió, I'm truly honored to be your new friend." 

The monster Tafió didn't seem like a monster to Eli anymore. He was only a lonely soul that wanted a new friend.

Or so he thought.

Eli soon woke up from his dream or darkness with a smile on his face and unharmed. He headed to school with a big smile on his face. "What happened to you? You never smile," Paul rubs in his face nagging him all day. "Shut up," Eli pushes him away covering his face as he then smiles again to himself. A new friend, Eli thought looking at the clear blue sky through the window. Having a friend was nice. He only had to travel through a new world to get one. But that only makes his new friend Tafió more special to him.
