You're best friends.

Hey again so first off once again thanks for reading and stuff.... also if anything is bolded like this it means it's not something that's within the story and it's a note I put in there. I'm posting on a Tuesday because tomorrow I'm gonna be busy aaaannnd not important but I'm going to an Ed Sheehan concert tomorrow night and I'm so excited and then I get my puppy on Thursday so this week has been pretty great. So that's it... without further ado enjoy part 2 of "The 'Normal' Girl"

    It's been a month since you started your job at S.T.A.R Labs and already the particle accelerator is close to being ready to be launched. In that amount of time you've made friends with everyone in department, and a few in others, everyone except one person. Hartley Rathaway, but no one is friends with him in fact almost everyone calls him a dick anyways so you have no intention in attempting in being his friend.

    "Hey Y/N/N," a familiar voice is behind you and that voice makes you smile, it's one of the three people you consider as you're best friend at S.T.A.R Labs "You ready to go get lunch. Cait and Ronnie are waiting for us so we need to hurry." and with those words I shut off my computer and grab my stuff to get up.

    "Yeah I'm ready sorry for taking forever." You laugh as you turn to see Cisco standing there smiling. In that month of working with your three closest friends you became especially close with Cisco. He was someone you could go to about everything, and even though he saw you as just a friend you saw him as something more than that. You had fallen for the great person he is, but it broke you whenever you would realize that he won't feel the same so you just hide your feelings.

    "Ok, but if Cait yells at me I'm blaming you ok?" he says as a joke, you laugh and nod knowing that Caitlin does not like being late for anything. You and Cisco walk to the cortex and see Caitlin and Ronnie together, both you and Cisco can tell Caitlin isn't happy about me and Cisco showing up 2 minutes and 43 seconds late.

    "Cisco! We're going to be late thanks to y-" she yelled at Cisco before you intervened.

    "It's not Ciscos fault, I was taking forever because I had something I had to finish." You told Caitlin as she looks back at Cisco and apologizes.

    "I'm sorry Cisco, I didn't think it was Y/N/N's fault," she then looks back at me with a slight glare. " As for you, the next time you're late we're just going to leave without you." she says as you and Cisco start laughing and after a few seconds Ronnie and Caitlin are laughing too. The group then go out to a four door hybrid and everyone gets in and go to lunch at Jitters. The group walks into the coffee shop together and decides what they want. You were chosen to order everyones drinks and so you get into line. When you get to the counter you look at the man behind the counter and realized it was someone you knew, the guy you had feelings for in high school ( granted he was four years older then you) and you ordered the drinks and started talking with him. (Description of what you want this person to look like, PS don't get attached because this character won't be the best). You realized that the old flames had re-lit deep in your heart and so you asked for his number and got it. When you got back to the table you gave everyone their drinks. Cisco noticed the slip of paper lying front of you and asked about it.

    "Hey Y/N/N," he looked at you with an expression you have never seen him make, this immediately gets your attention. "What's the slip of paper?" You blush a little when he asked about it. Is he jealous... No he can't be. He's just curious... Remember he's only a friend no matter how much you hope he will become more.

    "Oh yeah, it's the number of the barista. I knew him in high school, we were in the same grade... but he was much older then me so 'it was wrong to date him' or at least that's what I was told by my friends." You looked at them as you explained and then took a sip of your coffee. The group sat there for about 30 minutes talking about what was going on with our lives, while either Caitlin or Ronnie were talking you would sometimes catch Cisco either looking at you or at the barista whose number you got. He really can't be jealous.... can he? I shouldn't assume.. maybe he's just seeing what the barista looks like to make sure he doesn't seem sketchy or something. Yeah he's just looking out for me. With those thoughts in your head you smiled a little which causes Cisco to smile, but not the way he usually does at least not when he's happy. Cisco was faking a smile and you couldn't understand why. Does he think your thinking about the barista? Or maybe he knows your thinking about him and doesn't like that? You couldn't understand what he's thinking which was really hard for since Cisco was so important to you, no matter who either of you were dating. You just wanted him happy, even if meant he was with someone else. You sighed as took another sip of your now mostly cold coffee.

    "Hey Y/N/N," Caitlin says as she snaps you back to reality, "Are you ready to go?" she asked looking at you. You smile and nod.

    "Yeah I'm ready." And with that the group gets up and leaves the coffee shop. A place that you took a moment and lost yourself in thoughts in.
